The first MLB The Show 19 roster update has been released! For the first time, The Show has upgraded and downgraded players in 2019. That means many players’ attributes will be on the move so it’s time to pay attention.
MLB The Show 19 Roster Update reflects first three weeks
Video games just get bigger and better as time goes by. As for MLB The Show, it is the king of baseball. Not only are the graphics outstanding, the players reflect their real-life performance on the field.
The first MLB The Show 19 roster update was tweeted out today (April 19) and 120 different players are on the move. Some players for the better and some for the worse.
As explained in the tweet video clip, the players are all in the quest to become diamonds. Bronze players are trying to become Silver, while Silver looks to turn into Gold. And the biggest jumpers look to turn Gold into Diamonds.
Roster Update has one jump to Diamond status
So just who is on the first MLB The Show 19 roster update? Over 100 players for starters! The three who are being singled out here are Luis Castillo, Blake Snell & D.J. LeMahieu.
Castillo jumped up from his Opening Day number of 78 (Silver) to 80 which puts him in the Gold category. The hard-throwing right-hander has been aces for the Reds so far in 2019.
D.J. LeMahieu has also made the leap from Silver to Gold. Like Castillo, LeMahieu has gone from 78 to 80 with his nice start in New York.
That leaves Blake Snell – who happened to be the only player to join the Diamond rating in the latest roster update.
Snell made the leap from 83 (Gold) to 85 (Diamond). The reigning AL Cy Young award winner picked up where he left off last season in 2019. Snell has compiled an ERA of 2.16 to go along with his 0.76 WHIP. He also has struck out 36 batters in just 25 innings pitched.
That is impressive indeed! The roster updates will occur all season long and we will be on top of them as they happen.
