A ton of new MLB The Show 20 content arrived on Friday including a variety of new Diamond level player cards. The four newest MLB The Show 20 cards came via the Ducks on the Pond and Headliners Set 29. They include former Houston Astros ace Mike Scott, as well as Hall of Famer Ernie Banks. Here’s a breakdown of the four newest player cards available for Diamond Dynasty.
New Diamond MLB The Show 20 cards in Ducks on the Pond packs
Not long ago, we showed off the eight Ducks on the Pond players available in those limited-availability packs. They included Andre McCutchen, Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez, and Wade Boggs. Now we’ve got three more player cards available for the Diamond level and they are quite impressive.
We start off with Hall of Famer Ernie Banks who gets a 99 overall card with Diamond Hitting and Defense. The 14-time All-Star can primarily play shortstop or also slide into the third base spot if needed. His attributes include 95 Contact Right, 125 Contact Left, 114 Power Right, 102 Power Left, 101 Vision, and 125 Control. Banks also has 84 Fielding with an 84 Arm Strength and 82 Accuracy.
For Quirks, Mr. Cub gets Hitting Machine, Bomber, 20/20 Vision, Sniper, Pressure Cooker, and Unbreakable. Here are the full card attributes:
Joining Banks among the three new players in Ducks on a Pond is former Cincinnati Reds and New York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman with a 97 overall Diamond card. Chapman has a five-pitch repertoire with a 99 mph 4 Seam Fastball, 95 mph Sinker, 90 mph Slider, 87 mph Changeup, and 97 mph 2 Seam Fastball.
His attributes include 125 for Hits over nine innings and 125 for strikeouts over nine innings. Chapman also has 99 Velocity, 125 Pitch Control, and a 99 Arm, but just 33 Fielding. Quirks include Canon, Stingy, Untouchable, and Cheesy.
Last but not least is future star Jo Adell from the Los Angeles Angels. Adell gets a 99 overall with Diamond Hitting and Defense. The 20-year-old outfielder can play any of the three spots there. He brings 83 Contact Right, 97 Contact Left, 110 Power Right, 108 Power Left, 109 Control, and 99 Durability. He’s also got 86 Fielding, 83 Arm Strength, along with 90 Speed and 81 Steal ratings.
These MLB The Show 20 cards are now available in Ducks on the Pond packs. Gamers are limited to the purchase of two packs each in the store and they cost 35,000 MLB The Show Stubs. Each pack has at least one 92 Diamond or better player item inside.
Mike Scott featured in Headliners Set 29 packs
In addition to the update for Ducks on the Pond, there is also the new Headliners Set 29 packs update. The newest featured star in the packs is former Houston Astros pitcher Mike Scott. He starred in the league from 1971 through 1991, winning the Cy Young Award in 1987 and making the All-Star team three times.
Scott has a four-pitch repertoire that includes a 94 mph 4 Seam Fastball and 86 mph Slider. His new Diamond card has 114 Stamina, 107 Hits over nine innings, 112 strikeouts over nine, 119 Pitch Control, 99 Breaking, and 71 Velocity. Quirks include Workhorse, Stingy, Untouchable, Control Artist, and Grounded.
Scott’s new item is found in the new Headliners Set 29 packs available at the Store. These cost 7,500 Stubs each and are limited to five per account. Each pack contains at least one guaranteed Silver player and three other player items. There’s also an “increased chance” at getting the Headliner players which now include Mike Scott.
