MLB The Show 20 Headliners Set 11, April Monthly Awards Diamond Players Arrive in Game
As of Friday, April 17, MLB The Show 20 revealed a trio of new Diamond players in Diamond Dynasty. Gamers are now able to acquire the newest MLB The Show 20 Headliners Set 11 packs as well as another new April Monthly Awards player. They are starting pitchers, Christy Matthewson and Patrick Corbin. Here’s a look at their new Diamond cards and how to get them.
MLB The Show 20 Headliners Set 11 pack features Christy Matthewson
The new MLB The Show 20 Headliners Set 11 featured star is Christy Matthewson. We recently saw one legend with a new Bob Gibson Diamond card. Now the game is taking it back to the early 1900s with this starting pitcher as Matthewson played from 1900 until 1916, mostly with the former New York Giants in the National League. During that career he was a Triple Crown winner twice, a five-time ERA title winner, and 1905 World Series winner.
All that said, he became a Baseball Hall of Famer and is now the Diamond card in the Headliners 11 packs. Matthewson has a new 95 overall item with four-pitch repertoire. These include 78 mph Screwball, 94 mph 4-Seam Fastball, 75 mph 12-6 Curve, and 92 mph 2-Seam Fastball.
In terms of attributes, there’s 120 Stamina, 118 Pitch Control, 90 Hits per nine innings, and 95 Breaking. Fielding is just 65 with a 77 Arm and 48 Reaction. Matthewson’s Quirks are Pressure Cooker, Stingy, Unbreakable, Untouchable, Workhorse, and Control Artist.
Matthewson’s card is available through the MLB The Show 20 Headliners Set 11 packs. These sell for 7,500 MLB The Show Stubs at the packs store with a maximum of five packs available per account.
In addition, Matthewson’s Diamond card is selling on the Community Marketplace. The prices aren’t bad either, as he’s got a Buy Now of 29,880 and Sell Now of 24,468 as of this report.
New Patrick Corbin Diamond for April Monthly Awards
We’ve already seen one April Monthly Awards player recently with Ryan Zimmerman’s Diamond Card. As of Friday, we now have lefty starting pitcher Patrick Corbin as part of the program. Corbin gets a new Diamond card with 86 overall rating due to his April 2018 with a 3-0 record, 2.10 ERA, and 0.64 WHIP.
As shown below he’s got a five-pitch repertoire headlined by 93 mph 4-seam Fastball and 92 mph 2-seam Fastball. Additional attributes are his 92 Stamina, 84 strikeouts through nine, 87 Breaking, 84 Fielding, 76 Velocity, and 70 Acceleration. Corbin’s also got Workhorse and Untouchable for his Quirks.
To get Patrick Corbin, you’ll to achieve 50 Points (or Programs as they’re called) in the Missions and Moments. Check out our Ryan Zimmerman guide since you’ll be working through those to get to the Corbin as a reward.
So with those two new additions, gamers have three brand new pitchers to try to add to their Diamond Dynasty rotations.
