MLB The Show 20 officially arrived for PS4 consoles on March 17 for widespread access. With the new game comes plenty of excitement in the form of the Diamond Dynasty and several new game modes. To build up that Diamond Dynasty team takes some money, whether in real-life or virtual. We’re here to help with an MLB The Show 20 Stubs guide for how to get Stubs in the game.
MLB The Show 20 Stubs: What are they and what do they cost to buy?
Many of the sports simulation titles use in-game currencies so gamers can spend on items to improve their team or merely enjoy the game even more. The Show is no different, as MLB The Show 20 Stubs allow for purchasing packs, players, equipment, and other items to improve one’s experience.
For example, there are different collection rewards in MLB The Show including the recent Wander Franco reward. To get that reward involves getting 21 MLB The Show 20 Prospects players through packs and spending Stubs on the Marketplace. That can add up in terms of the amount you’ll need to spend to get all the cards.
The easiest, but most expensive way to get MLB The Show 20 Stubs is by spending real cash. There’s an option to buy the Stubs through the PlayStation Store. Check out the prices for different amounts of Stubs below.
- 1,000 Stubs = $0.99
- 5,000 Stubs = $4.99
- 11,000 Stubs = $9.99
- 24,000 Stubs = $19.99
- 67,500 Stubs = $49.99
- 150,000 Stubs = $99.99
You can purchase these by going to the part of MLB The Show 20 menu screen in the Shop that says “Stubs.” Remember, you’ll need a valid payment source hooked up with a PlayStation Store account.
How can you earn Stubs without spending money?
Playing the game is one way in which you’ll earn Stubs. They’re given out as incentive rewards for different parts of MLB The Show 20. For example, there’s the Moments area in Diamond Dynasty which has Curtis Granderson and Kerry Wood Moments for the 1st Inning Program. Each of the player’s moments will bring a reward of a certain amount of Stubs with it. So by achieving these, you’re racking up the currency.
The Moments area is just one spot where you’ll find ways to make stubs in MLB The Show 20. If you haven’t already, check out the Team Affinity and Ranked Seasons where you can unlock Stubs at different points levels. Here’s a look at some of the rewards available in Ranked Seasons:
Selling your spare, unneeded player cards or items is a great way to make Stubs in MLB The Show 20. You can do this by selling whatever cards you get as free rewards or as rewards for various modes. In Diamond Dynasty mode, head to the menu area for “My Inventory” and you can scroll through all of your items to choose different ones to sell. Some bring low amounts of Stubs, but again, it all adds up.
You can also try buying cards for one price and then selling for a higher price to boost your MLB the Show 20 Stubs. This method, also referred to as “Flipping” is a popular way to earn Stubs, but just like playing through games or moments, it can take time. However, an hour of time could add up to 10,000 Stubs through wisely flipping different items.
Check out the video below for a good overview of how to rack up those MLB The Show 20 Stubs for use in buying the players or items you want!
