San Diego Studio developers released MLB The Show 20 Update 1.08 on April 10 to provide a number of game fixes. Those included addressing glitches involving certain defensive plays, steals, and home runs. In addition, they addressed some aspects of the user interface along with general improvements most likely based on user feedback.
MLB The Show 20 Update 1.08 in-game fixes
Just over a week ago, we saw update 1.07 arrive for The Show. The new MLB The Show 20 update addressed just four in-game aspects, but they are probably ones the community won’t mind one bit. Two of those are related to fielding glitches in the new MLB game.
The dev team fixed one issue where a fielder would get to a spot at the last possible moment to make a catch for an out and it didn’t count. The other issue was a defensive problem where home runs were being “sucked into an outfielder’s glove” for an out.
Two other gameplay fixes are part of update 1.08 on Friday. An early steal of home on certain deep fly balls was not counting as a run. That should no longer be the case. In addition, Online head-to-head had an issue where users got “trapped in the pause menu” and eventually the pause timer would run out, causing a forefeit. This should not happen now in-game.
What else does update 1.08 change or fix?
This wasn’t a large update by any means and brought with it just three other notable changes or fixes. In terms of user interface, “Baserunning Decisions” is no longer an option on the Online Head-to-Head in-game menu. That’s because all of these games are manual by default.
In addition, there were various fixes for gameplay crashes, minor Play-by-Play commentary issues, and a connection problem. With that, users are no longer going to “automatically fail the moment or showdown” should they lose their connection on the Showdown front-end menu.

The latest update arrives not long after a new content release for The Show. It included three Diamond players for Flawless Rewards and Headliners Set 8. Friday should bring some more content with the 2nd Inning Program as teased in the video tweet below.
