Fans of popular baseball simulation game, MLB The Show, will finally be able to create their own field of dreams. On Thursday, a new video arrived featuring Coach and Fernando Tatis, to show off MLB The Show 21 Stadium Creator. The new feature is good news for fans of the popular video game, but the bad news is that it will only be available on next-generation consoles.
MLB The Show 21 Stadium Creator available for next-gen, select modes
Based on a two-minute video, MLB The Show 21 Stadium Creator will feature a robust suite of customization features. That includes the ability to alter the dimensions of ballpark walls, where the foul poles are, and other objects.
There are over 1,000 “pieces” available for designers to create with. As the video shows, a designer is adding various statues to just beyond the outfield area, or solar panels, among other items.
There are also pre-made stadium kits available, ranging from modern looks to more “outlandish” setups. Creators can design the wackiest ideas they might develop, including UFOs in the outfield based on the video (below).
Also, gamers can share their creations with the online community, similar to how rosters have been shareable. It certainly is an exciting new addition to MLB The Show 21 that Diamond Dynasty and Franchise modes lacked.
Of course, the main drawback will be that only next-gen console owners can enjoy this feature. So that means PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users will not be getting MLB The Show 21 Stadium Creator. Instead, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S users will be able to put it to use on the next-gen hardware.
