The reveal of the upcoming MLB The Show 22 video game included several historic reveals. The cover will feature its first-ever pitcher, with Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels. In addition, the San Diego Studio baseball simulation game will officially debut on Nintendo Switch. Along with that, Switch gamers will be able to participate in cross-platform play with the two other major platforms.

San Diego Studio is back with MLB The Show 22, even with the lockout looming. On Monday, January 31st, an official MLB The Show 22 release date and cover reveal showed fans that a new edition of the game is on the way. It’ll feature Shohei Ohtani gracing the game’s cover after completing an epic season and earning the AL MVP Award.
The game’s release date has been revealed as Tuesday, April 5, 2022, and pre-orders launched soon after the reveals. They’ll include the next-generation PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, as well as the older PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
The big news was that the MLB The Show 22 pre-orders include the option to get the game on Nintendo Switch. The Show has never been offered before for Nintendo.

Nintendo Switch game pre-order cost & features
According to MLB The Show 22 pre-orders, customers can purchase the Nintendo Switch Standard Edition for $59.99. As of right now, The Show’s website only has this as a digital download of the game, requiring at least 17GB of storage space when the game arrives.
The game will be available for TV, tabletop, or handheld mode thanks to the versatility of the Nintendo Switch.
Anyone who pre-orders the Nintendo Switch version of the game gets a copy of the game, and 5,000 MLB The Show Stubs. It also includes a Gold Choice Pack.
The game includes the popular modes many fans have come to love with MLB The Show including Road to the Show, Diamond Dynasty, and March to the October.
In addition, the Nintendo version of the game will allow for cross-platform play. That means Nintendo gamers can compete against friends or community members on The Show who are on PlayStation or Xbox consoles.

While the Standard Edition is available as of Monday, January 31, gamers may want to wait until Wednesday to see what the Collector’s Edition offers, if it’s available on Switch.
PlayStation & Xbox pre-order details
MLB The Show made its debut for the Xbox consoles last year since it’s primarily been a Sony PlayStation title over the years. It returns again this year for Xbox One and the newer Xbox Series X/S consoles. Additionally, it’s available for the Sony PlayStation 4 and newer PS5 consoles.
MLB The Show 22 pre-orders are available for Standard Edition on these consoles as well. It costs $59.99 for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. The game has a price of $69.99 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles. Visit The Show’s website to secure a digital copy with bonuses.
