As fans countdown the days until the can get their hands on the latest edition of MLB The Show, an interesting thought was tweeted out on the MLB The Show Twitter page. Who will grace the cover of the popular PlayStation game in 2029? The reason the latest MLB The Show cover predictions are being thrown around is due to the latest social media trend called “The 10-year challenge.” If you haven’t heard of the 10-year challenge, it is actually quite simple.
Folks are posting pictures of themselves from 2009 (10 years ago) and then posting a recent pic side-by-side to display the difference between the then and now photos. Thus, the 10-year challenge was born. With all of the fuss, MLB The Show threw the question out there for fans to debate – who will be the 2029 cover athlete in honor of the latest craze!
2009 was Pedroia’s world
In 2009, Dutin Pedroia was an easy choice for the MLB The Show cover. He was coming off a monster 2018 season which saw him lead the league in total hits with 213 and doubles with 54. Pedroia won a gold glove and was the unanimous choice for AL-MVP.

Fast forward 10 years and we now have Bryce Harper.
This kid was meant to play baseball. Harper is the cover athlete for 2019, yet no one knows what uniform he will be wearing. The Las Vegas native is still the most sought after free-agent of the offseason, but the clock is starting to become a factor.
With less than three weeks until spring training arrives, the one-time National League MVP and Rookie of the Year has to make a decision soon.
