Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Set to Launch Tomorrow

After months of rumours, speculation, and the occasional uncomfirmed leak, it now seems as though Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is definitely on the way. In fact, it could be about to launch as soon as tomorrow! This information, which emerged due to a leaked PlayStation Store listing, is believed to be genuine – at least according to Eurogamer.

Is a Modern Warfare 2 Remaster Launching Tomorrow?

Rumours that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 remaster was in development have been circulating since last year. However, Activision has never officially confirmed that it actually was. Now, it seems as though the company may be planning to use the same release strategy as that which they recently used for Call of Duty: Warzone; i.e., refrain from announcing the game until the day of its launch. If the leaked Store listing is indeed genuine, then the remaster should launch sometime tomorrow.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Launches Tomorrow 2

Not long ago, a datamining leak did hint that a Modern Warfare 2 Remastered launch might not be far away. In that case, the leak didn’t actually reveal a release date. However, it did reveal what appear to be promotional content updates for both Modern Warfare and Warzone; both of which are likely to launch in the near future. These will presumably serve as promotional marketing for the new remaster. What appears to be the game’s new trailer has also now leaked on social media (see below).

One interesting aspect to note is that the game’s official title appears to be; “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Campaign Remastered”. This strongly suggests that the game will only include a single-player campaign, not multiplayer. Although it might be seem surprising for Activision to release a Call of Duty game with no multiplayer, it actually does make sense because of the launch timing. After all, the publisher only recently launched Warzone, and Modern Warfare’s multiplayer is still hugely active; no doubt Activision wants to keep multiplayer fans playing their flagship games. Whatever the case, fans may find out all the details tomorrow.
