Today, Infinity Ward launched their final February patch for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare; one of their largest since the start of Season 2. The Modern Warfare patch adds a new map, Bazaar, as well as new modes and playlist changes. Of course, it also includes a host of general fixes and improvements, along with balance changes for several weapons.
Key Features of the New Modern Warfare Patch
The headline feature of the February Modern Warfare patch is the addition of Bazaar, the first new map of Season 2 since the season began. In fact, Bazaar’s inclusion isn’t the only map change to feature in the patch; the Shoot House map is now available on an existing playlist alongside Shipment and Rust 24/7. When it comes to modes, players can now try out a 3v3 Snipers mode on Rust, the Giant Infection mode, and a new way to play Ground War. The mode variant removes tanks and adds Realism rules.
When it comes to weapons, the patch makes a series of changes, both to original weapons and newer additions. The newly-added Crossbow, for example, now has a faster reload speed. Among other tweaks, the Model 680 has gotten a range buff, while Under Barrel Shotguns have had a significant rework; they will now fire more pellets per shot, their shell count has gone up to 8, and their range has been increased. However, their rate of fire has also gone down.
In addition to the usual stability improvements which one would expect from a patch, this update includes several bug fixes and removes various exploits, such as a spawn exploit on the Vacant map. Players who have been seeing an incorrect Career Level should now see the correct level. A bug which has been causing online friends to not appear at the top of the Social Tab list has also been fixed.
