Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PS4 Exclusive Content Has Been Revealed
With the introduction of cross-play in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, allowing PC, Xbox, and PlayStation users to play with one another for the first time, Activision finally abandoned the norm of bringing content exclusively to the PS4 before other platforms. However, many fans were subsequently disappointed to learn that instead, an entire game mode would be exclusive to the PS4 for a whole year; the Spec Ops Survival mode. Unfortunately for those fans, Activision has now revealed that there will be even more Modern Warfare PS4 exclusive content.
The New Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PS4 Exclusive Content
Until now, it had seemed as though Survival mode was going to be the only timed exclusive in Modern Warfare. While many fans were unhappy to learn about this, the mode is at least only one part of Spec Ops. However, Activision has now revealed that there will be new Survival mode maps coming with each season. Plus, there will be “exclusive challenge missions,” which give PS4 players the chance to earn unique rewards when playing other modes. A different reward will be available each season and will be either a new “weapon or skin”. This seems to mean that there will be certain weapons which are exclusive to the PS4.
So far, Activision has announced four of a planned nine sets of new content that will be exclusive to the PS4. Firstly, the Spec Ops Survival mode will be getting the following new maps; Operation: Grazna Raid, Operation: Piccadilly; Operation: Aniyah Palace, and Operation: St. Petrograd. The remaining five maps are still under wraps. When it comes to exclusive challenges and their rewards, the first four will be as follows:
- Elite Sniper: By completing this long-range challenge, PS4 players can unlock the Sufferings End sniper rifle.
- CQB Specialist: This short-range challenge offers players the Tenderizer shotgun.
- Dominator: Focusing on the Domination game mode, this challenge has The Howler handgun as its reward.
- Survivalist: This challenge requires players to “triumph over enemies in all theatres,” to unlock the Jack Frosty assault rifle.
These exclusive missions will be available each season, and are accessible via the Barracks tab in-game. The remaining five challenges and their rewards are currently redacted on the official Call of Duty website.
