Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 is due to end on the 4th of August, in just a few days’ time. That means that players rushing to complete their Battle Passes only have a little time left to do so. However, players won’t have to wait long before they get a taste of new content. Activision has now confirmed that Modern Warfare Season 5 will begin the very next day!
When Does Modern Warfare Season 5 Begin?
Activision confirmed today that the official launch date of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 will be the 5th of August; the day after Season 4 comes to an end next week. The date was confirmed at the end of a teaser trailer for Shadow Company, an all-new multiplayer faction with three new Operators which will be coming to Modern Warfare in Season 5. A private military company made of former Allegiance soldiers, Shadow Company is the first new distinct faction to come to the game post-launch.
Beyond the launch of Shadow Company, Activision and Infinity Ward mostly have Season 5 still under wraps. They have yet to give players a glimpse at anything like new weapons, new maps, or new Battle Pass content. Of course, with four seasons now behind us, it’s not hard to guess at what the new season will include. Most likely, Season 5 will see the introduction of three new weapons, for example; two at launch and a third midway through the season.
Season 5 is also sure to feature a new Battle Pass. If you have yet to finish the Season 4 Battle Pass, there may yet be enough time to do so before the 5th. Players should bear in mind that, in addition to the final blueprint reward, players who complete the Battle Pass earn themselves 1,300 Call of Duty points. New Battle Passes are typically 1,000 CoD points, so completing Season 4’s Pass means that you should have enough to upgrade to the Season 5 Battle Pass for free when it launches.
