God of War has been out for some months now. While Santa Monica Studios has stated that they have no plans for post-launch content, there have been a series of product releases in recent weeks to tie-in to the game. A vinyl edition of the soundtrack was announced recently, as were a series of high-quality art prints. Now, collectible manufacturer Mondo has announced a new God of War figurine, to be released at San Diego Comic-Con.
The God of War Figurine
San Diego Comic-Con is due to start tomorrow and run from the 18th to the 22nd of July. Mondo, who will be located at booth #435, will be unveiling several different products at the event. Foremost among them is a collectible figurine of Kratos, suitably bearded and carrying the Leviathan Axe. The figurine is 1/6 scale; 12.5 inches tall, and featuring 25 different points of articulation. It even comes with two inter-changeable heads, if for some reason you don’t want to display the god of war without his newly-acquired Nordic facial hair. The God of War figurine also features several different weapons and accessories beyond the Leviathan Axe.
Alongside the Kratos figurine, Mondo will also be selling new figurines for the Predator and Masters of the Universe franchises, along with others; figurines of both He-Man and Skeletor, and a Predator-styled Tiki Mug. Although the God of War figurine might not be as high-quality, perhaps, as the recent vinyl or print releases; it’s certainly a high-quality collectible from a retailer with a reputation for such work.
At present, it’s unknown if Mondo plans on producing any additional God of War -related merchandise. As such, the Kratos figurine will be sadly bereft of Atreus. If the figurine sells well, however, it could well prompt the retailer to expand the range to include other characters from the game.
