Monster Hunter Stories has taken the leap from Nintendo 3DS to Android and iOS mobile devices. You can purchase this spin-off Monster Hunter game right now on Google Play and the App Store for $19.99. There is also a free demo, according to Twinfinite, that lets you play through the game for a bit and carry your progress to the full game. This version of the game includes updated graphics, better UI, and an autosave system.
Monster Hunter Stories, for those who don’t know, isn’t at all your typical beast-slaying game. You aren’t trying to track and kill various monsters and hunt for materials to craft the next best set of armor and weapons. Stories is a very different spin-off game in the Monster Hunter franchise that offers up a different type of gameplay.
Monster Hunter Stories is more akin to the Pokemon and Shin Megami Tensei series instead of a traditional Monster Hunter title. You play as a rider in a village hidden from the rest of the monster-slaying world, where the people there are taught to love and befriend the monsters instead of hunting them down.
As such, gameplay in Monster Hunter Stories is turn-based and has you collecting monsters to fight alongside you.
