Monster Hunter: World launched back earlier this year on PS4 and Xbox One, bringing hunters together from all around the world to bring gigantic beasts, wyverns, dragons, and things that look like chickens. Concerning a release for PC via Steam, Capcom originally stated that Monster Hunter: World would come sometime in the Fall, but luckily, the company has just announced the release date for World and it’s coming sooner than expected.
Monster Hunter: World will be the first mainline game in the series to come to PC and it will be available via Steam on Aug 9 and “will have parity” with the other console versions, according to PC Gamer. WeCapcom may release a free update post-launch that might up the graphical quality, but nothing was set in stone. Monster Hunter: World already looks incredible on the PS4 and Xbox One, so seeing any kind of upgrade for the PC would just be glorious – imagine seeing Rathian and Rathalos in their true glory. There could also be some type of mod support for PC users but Capcom didn’t speak on it with this release date reveal.
If you haven’t played Monster Hunter: World before, then here’s a quick synopsis of what to expect:
“Battle gigantic monsters in epic locales. As a hunter, you’ll take on quests to hunt monsters in a variety of habitats.
Take down these monsters and receive materials that you can use to create stronger weapons and armor in order to hunt even more dangerous monsters. In Monster Hunter: World, the latest installment in the series, you can enjoy the ultimate hunting experience, using everything at your disposal to hunt monsters in a new world teeming with surprises and excitement.”
