FFXIV and Monster Hunter fans, rejoice! Final Fantasy XIV update 4.36 has arrived, bringing the Rathalos fight and a slew of other changes and additions. The long-awaited Monster Hunter World collaboration has arrived in FFXIV, shortly after it already launched in the former’s game. Update 4.36 brings the collaboration event, complete with a new trial, new gear to collect, and more.
Final Fantasy XIV update 4.36 is a pretty major update, despite being only one of the interim content patches in-between the major story patches. That’s mainly because of the Rathalos trial that is now available in the game. The monstrous creature from the Monster Hunter series is now making its first appearance in the Final Fantasy franchise.
The Rathalos fight in Final Fantasy XIV update 4.36 isn’t just a throwaway one, either. Players will need to be the max level of 70 and have completed the Stormblood expansion in order to take on the opening quest to unlock the trial. The trial itself is an eight-player duty, tasking players will bringing down this beast in exchange for some sweet exclusive rewards.
If you can successfully win in The Great Hunt Rathalos trial, you will have the chance to receive some exclusive Monster Hunter World-themed items. These rewards include an armor set inspired by the monster, new Poogie and Palico minions, a new mount based on the creature, and a BBQ Spit furniture item for your estate.
The Rathalos fight isn’t the only new addition to arrive alongside theĀ Final Fantasy XIV update 4.36. The first expansion for The Forbidden Land of Eureka has arrived. The Pagos Expedition is the first major content addition for the duty, bringing a whole new area for players to explore, additional rewards to collect like new minions, and the ability to further strengthen your Eureka weapons beyond the current limit.
