More Parts of Fortnite Map is Getting Covered in Snow

The introduction of the snowy setting in the seventh season of Fortnite was a huge change to the map. The snow has fully covered the south-western part of the map. It has also added a couple of new points of interest to the game. But now, a Reddit user has pointed out that the current map doesn’t look identical to the map at the beginning of this season.

Fortnite Season Seven Map: Before And Now

Reddit user Burning_Tooth discovered that the edges of the snowy biome have started to expand and the Fortnite map is changing.

Fortnite snow covers more land

You can clearly notice that some parts of Snobby Shores, Tilted Towers, and Lucky Landing are more covered in snow that before. The rate at which the snow is covering the rest of the map is currently unknown. It has been three weeks since the start of this season, and no one really noticed the change until the start of 14 Days of Fortnite. This could mean that if the changes started in the last couple of days then players might be able to see more noticeable changes anytime soon.

Before the start of season seven, one of the promotional posts from Fortnite said “A bitter ice spreads…” Maybe that was a foreshadow for this sudden change to the map.

If the snow continues to grow on the map then players should definitely expect a major event, like the appearance of Kevin the Cube in season 5, to happen soon. The snow will completely cover the map, but there is no telling whether it will happen over time or in one fell swoop.

Whatever the case may be, it would be really awesome to see major places like Tilted Towers, Salty Springs, and Loot Lake covered in snow. For now, players should focus on completing the 14 Days of Fortnite challenges because there are some exciting rewards that can be obtained from them.
