NASCAR Heat 5 Features Reveal: New Paint Booth Options, Pro League Drivers, and Lap Counter

On Monday, some of the team members involved in updating and upgrading the NASCAR Heat 5 features gave a preview on Twitch. During their presentation, they revealed a first look at how the Paint Booth Customization will work. In addition, they unveiled the addition of Pro League Drivers who will be selectable with their cars for the first time in the game.

New NASCAR Heat 5 features Paint Booth upgrades

The NASCAR Heat 5 features have been rolling out through previews here and there. June 22 brought a new Twitch presentation in which they covered custom championships and paint schemes. They also gave gamers a look at what’s new when it comes to Paint Booth for the NASCAR cars.

Being able to get super specific with a car’s look is a big deal to many gamers when it comes to simulation. They’ll get a number of new options when it comes to the Paint Booth for cars in the new NASCAR game.

There will be even more fonts and customization available for the numbers on the side of the cars. In addition, gamers can modify the fill color and shade color for the numbers to give them an extra pop as seen in the image below.

Other additions to the car’s style modifications will include the option to choose a Gloss or Matte material. In addition, gamers will be able to have more color options for editing the car’s rims and will now have the option to edit the car’s spoiler.

Pro League drivers available in new game

Another reveal that came during Monday’s Twitch stream is that Pro League drivers will become available in the NASCAR Heat 5 game. They were on display after the team members gave viewers a look at No. 24 Jeff Gordon who remains part of the game, and Tony Stewart who is an addition to the game. Stewart will be on a NASCAR Heat 5 cover as well.

Amongst the Pro League drivers shown off during the Twitch stream were Diego Alvarado, Kyle Arnold, Mike Braas, Justin Brooks, Jason Keffer, Jacob Kerr, and Greg Matarazzo. They mentioned that all of the Season 2 Pro League drivers will be in the game minus Penske due to them deciding not to be displayed in the game.

Based on what they presented in the stream, the drivers will be selectable in two modes: Online or Single Player Quick Play. However, they won’t be selectable in the Career Mode for the game. Still, it’s a big move for the game and will bring a new component to the NASCAR Heat 5 features.

Lap counter feature makes way into game

At the very end of Monday’s Twitch stream, they revealed that the new game will also feature a Lap counter. It’s something a large part of the community was interested in, and they’re finally making it happen.

It will be amongst the improvements for spectating races. This will be particularly useful for league admins, league racers, and broadcasters looking for more details presented during races.

There will also be a new ticker on the screen giving even more information during races. The Spectator Cam will now show what lap they’re on as well as who is leading, in second, third, fourth, and so on. It won’t give information about how many seconds ahead or behind a car is, but it’s still a major addition to the game.

The new NASCAR Heat 5 game will be available soon as the official release date is July 7, 2020. The motorsports sim game will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam. Right now, only Steam and Xbox pre-orders are available on the official website. See more pre-order details here.
