NASCAR Heat 5 Release Date: Pre-Order Details, Gold and Standard Edition Covers Revealed

It’s almost time to start your engines, virtually speaking! Fans of the NASCAR Heat franchise will be happy to know that a fifth installment in the series is on the way. While NASCAR racing at the real-world tracks is suspended, video game fans will be able to use their favorite drivers and navigate tracks virtually. The NASCAR Heat 5 release date for both the Gold and Standard Edition of the new game comes this July 2020.

NASCAR Heat 5 release date and game details

NBC Sports gave a report on Tuesday (May 5) regarding the new NASCAR Heat 5 release date. The 704 Games motor racing simulation title will arrive on Tuesday, July 7 with the Gold Edition. Gamers who want the Standard Edition will need to wait until Friday, July 10 to secure their copy of the game.

As far as platforms go, both editions of the new NASCAR Heat 5 game (GameStop preorder) will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One (and X), and PCs via Steam.

An official announcement trailer also arrived for the upcoming game via IGN.

This marks the fifth installment in the popular series. The NASCAR Heat 3 game received mixed reviews, coming in at 64 out of 100 for critics on Metacritic and 5.4 out of 10 for the User Score. The NASCAR Heat 4 game received better critical reviews, getting a 70 of 100 there, but the User Score remained low at 5.3 out of 10. 

Gamers are hoping that when the NASCAR Heat 5 arrives for consoles it has a much better overall racing experience.

Gold and Standard Edition covers, pre-order details

Each edition of the NASCAR Heat game will have a different cover driver. For the Standard Edition, it’s Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott. So far during his six-year NASCAR Cup Series career, Eliott has run in over 150 races across six years. He claimed nine poles, won six races and has 76 finishes in the top 10. He’s also an accomplished NASCAR Xfinity driver with five wins there, two poles, and 65 top 10 finishes.

Gracing the cover of the NASCAR Heat 5 Gold Edition will be Stewart-Haas Racing driver Tony Stewart. Smoke has Smoke is a legend on the track with 18 years of experience and over 600 races run. He’s won the NASCAR Cup Series in three of those ears (2002, 2005, and 2011).

Tony has participated in 14 years of NASCAR Xfinity and five years of NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series. In addition, he competed in the IndyCar Series for five years, placing first in 1997. 

Nonetheless, his resume speaks volumes about his stardom on the race tracks and now Smoke will appear on NASCAR 5 Heat Gold as shown below.

As far as pre-orders go, GameStop already has listings for both editions of the game. The Standard Edition for PS4 and Xbox One is listed at $49.99 while the Gold Edition is listed at $69.99, as of this report. See more details on the GameStop website here.
