NBA 2K League Playoffs 2019 Semifinals Results: T-Wolves Gaming, 76ers GC Advance to Finals

Friday, July 26 brought the NBA 2K League Playoffs 2019 semifinals under the spotlight in New York City. Four teams were remaining to compete with only two moving on to the NBA 2K League Finals. In one matchup, it T-Wolves Gaming battled with Warriors Gaming, while the other side saw Celtics Crossover Gaming go up against 76ers GC. Here’s a look at the latest 2K League Playoffs results for the semis leading to the 2019 Finals matchup.

NBA 2K League Playoffs 2019: T-Wolves Gaming defeats Warriors in semifinals

Thursday night’s 2K League results provided another night of sweeps with both teams advancing after winning two games. On Friday, fans saw the first matchup go the same way as T-Wolves Gaming took out Warriors with two dominant wins. The first game saw T-Wolves dominate the upset-minded Warriors with a convincing 71-53 victory.

T-Wolves built to a 39-25 lead by halftime and then outscored Warriors 15-8 in the third. While the Warriors won the fourth quarter, 20-17, it wasn’t enough to make a comeback. They packed it in to prepare for Game 2. BearDaBeast put up a double-double with an impressive 24 points and 15 assists. 2K League’s Autumn Johnson spoke with him following the win.

In Game 2, T-Wolves decided they weren’t going to let this series go three games. After a 12-12 opening quarter, T-Wolves outscored their opponents in each of the next three quarters. Ultimately, they went on a huge 23-13 run for the fourth quarter to get a 68-46 victory and a ticket to the finals.

DaBeast had yet another triple-double, this time posting 10 points to go with 13 assists and four steals. Teammate TurnUpDefense scored 20 points to lead the scoring, while JoJo had 17 and JMoneyRep added 15. With the win, they got to watch to see who they’d meet in the 2K League’s second-ever championship series. It makes quite a debut for the squad as this is their inaugural 2K League season.

76ers GC, Celtics Crossover battle in other semifinals matchup

While the first NBA 2K League Playoffs 2019 matchup of the night took all three games, 76ers made sure that wasn’t the case in their series. In Game 1, it was a back-and-forth battle but ultimately went their way. 76ers won the first quarter 14-13, but CCG was leading 25-23 at the half. In the third quarter, 76ers outscored their opponents 16-13 to take a one-point lead into the fourth. The final quarter saw 76ers outscore CCG 16-13 once again, to claim a close 55-51 victory.

Small forward ZDS led the 76ers’ scoring with 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting, while point guard Radiant had 14 points and 12 assists. oFAB put up 19 points and dished out 11 assists for the losing side. ZDS earned Intel Player of the Game honors and spoke about his performance after the opening game victory.

Game 2 provided an absolute beatdown with 76ers GC claiming a 96-59 win to head to the 2K League Finals. Point guard Radiant was the star with 37 points and 14 assists, while ZDS added 26 points to help in the rout. That gave 76ers GC a 2-0 series win and punched their tickets to the finals. It also brought the impressive season Celtics Crossover had to an end.

While the NBA 2K League Playoffs 2019 featured all best-of-three matchups, the finals will be a best-of-five series. Will they provide another sweep in this year’s playoffs? The NBA 2K League Finals officially tip off with Game 1 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time on August 3, 2019. Game 2 is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET, with Game 3 at 5 p.m. ET. Game 4 and Game 5 are both “if necessary.” They’ll take place at 6 p.m. ET and 7 p.m. ET, respectively.
