Saturday brings us the NBA 2K Players Tournament semifinals matchups with just four players left in the event. The four remaining competitors have all shown themselves to have some skills on the sticks, and will now battle for the spots in the final. We’ll see a change in the way the next part of the tournament goes too as the players compete for the championship, also on Saturday.
NBA 2K Players Tournament Semifinals and Finals Bracket Schedule, Format Change
In the 2K Tourney’s quarterfinals results, we saw a number of relatively close games. While there weren’t any that came down to the buzzer, several games were competitive into the late part of the fourth. Devin Booker crushed Rui Hachimura 71-55 in the first matchup. However, the other three games were decided by seven points or less.
That included a five-point win by the Clippers’ Montrezl Harrell over Derrick Jones Jr. of the Miami Heat. In the other two games, DeAndre Ayton defeated Trae Young (73-66) and Patrick Beverly took down Andre Drummond (69-62).
That means the NBA 2K Players Tournament semifinals bracket has two Los Angeles Clipper and two Phoenix Suns playing in the matchups.
On one side it will be No. 5 seed Devin Booker against No. 8 seed Montrezl Harrell. On the other side, it’s No. 10 seed DeAndre Ayton and No. 14 seed Patrick Beverly squaring off. Will Beverly take down another big man en route to the championship game?
The games start at 5 p.m. Eastern Time for the semifinals portion of the bracket. The finals will also take place on Saturday night, so we’ll have a champion by the end of the evening.
- First semifinals matchup – 5 p.m. Eastern Time
- Second semifinals matchup – 7 p.m. Eastern Time
- Championship matchup – 9 p.m. Eastern Time
When the semifinals take place, there will be a difference in the NBA 2K games format. This won’t be just one game and a player’s moving on. Instead, it will be a best-of-three. It seems based on the fact the players have so many teams remaining from their eight picks, that they’ll use a different squad for each of those games.
