NBA 2K19 MyTeam Cards: Kyrie Irving Leads New Throwback Playoffs Moments Galaxy Opals in Packs
The NBA 2K19 MyTeam cards continue to arrive in the hit basketball game ahead of September’s 2020 installment. Even with the basketball postseason over for a month now, gamers are able to pick up some great MyTeam cards featuring Throwback Playoff Moments. These cards feature players who made a splash in the postseason with stars from the past and present represented. Among the latest basketball stars in the MyTeam lineup are current NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving and former Atlanta Hawks big man Dikembe Mutombo.
Kyrie Irving Cavs Galaxy Opal among Throwback Playoff Moments cards
Over the past several weeks, the Toronto Raptors won the NBA Championship, as 15 other teams failed to reach that goal. Among those teams in the Eastern Conference was the Boston Celtics with All-Star Kyrie Irving. His goal of leading a different team to the title didn’t pan out and now he joins the Brooklyn Nets as a free agent. However, before Boston and Brooklyn, there was Cleveland, where Kyrie and LeBron James teamed up to bring the city a championship.
Irving is one of three new NBA 2K19 MyTeam Galaxy Opal cards that appear in the Throwback Playoff Moments packs. In his three seasons with Cleveland during their playoffs runs, he averaged 21.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. That included the 2015-16 postseason where Irving, James, and the Cavs captured the NBA title.
Joining the NBA All-Star point guard with Galaxy Opal cards are the “Human Eraser” Dikembe Mutombo and former Washington Wizards All-Star Antawn Jamison.
Mutombo was well known for swatting shots away from players trying to drive the lane. He had some big numbers during his postseason appearances with Atlanta. That included a 21 rebounds game in the 1996-97 postseason and a playoff career-high of 28 points performance in a 1998-99 postseason game.
Jamison appeared in seven postseasons and a total of 46 playoff games for his career. Four of those postseasons were with Washington where he averaged 20.3 points, 8.3 boards, and 1.6 assists. In the 2006-07 postseason, he had a playoff career-high of 38 points in one game as well as a playoff career-high 14 rebounds in another. Ironically, those were series against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but before Irving was a member of the roster.

Gamers can head into NBA 2K19 MyTeam to the Pack Market to buy the Throwback Playoff Moments packs. They start at a cost of 7,500 Virtual Currency (VC) or 10,500 MyTeam Tokens (MT). That is the price for a single pack of five cards. Gamers can also purchase a 10-pack or 20-pack for more currency.
The cost of 10 packs is currently 67,500 VC while 20 packs will cost 135,000 VC. Each pack has at least one guaranteed player and a chance of a second player or limited Throwback Playoffs Moments player.
