As of this weekend, NBA 2K19 Travis Scott edition was in full effect. The hip-hop star’s presence is being felt within the popular basketball video game in several ways. Not only were special edition Travis Scott kicks available to players in the game, but he was also granted hosting duties for NBA 2KTV. Here are the latest details on what Scott’s been up to within the NBA 2K19 gaming world.
NBA 2K19 Travis Scott limited shoes available
Hip-hop star Travis Scott is 2K19 family as he’s been part of the soundtrack and on the cover of a special edition of the game. Starting on Friday (Nov. 30), there were some sweet NBA 2K19 Travis Scott shoes available in the game. 2K announced on their Twitter account that they had two different Travis Scott styles of kicks. They are the Cactus Jack IVs and Air Force 1 (AF1) Lows seen below. To get the shoes, gamers need to head over to the Neighborhood as they’re available in limited amounts.

Both shoes were special collaborations in the real world between Scott and Nike. The Cactus Jack IVs featured a red, white, and light blue colorway to signify “a bygone era of Houston football” since Scott hails from that area. The inner tongue contains the rapper’s name inscribed upside down and backward while the heel area features Cactus Jack Records text and a paint splash design.
The AF1s are the classic white design, with a shiny silver Nike swoosh brightly standing out on the side. On the fronts of the shoe are some Cactus Jack stylings in a subdued color scheme. The inner heel area of each show has part of Travis Scott’s name. These started out at $150 and like the Cactus Jacks are now sold out via Nike. Scott was seen gifting a pair to Ellen DeGeneres on a recent episode of her daytime talk show.
NBA 2K19 Travis Scott hosts 2KTV
Since Rachel DeMita left NBA 2KTV, it has left quite a void to fill. Fans were enamored by the popular host but she has moved on to new ventures. For at least one episode, they brought in the “Astroworld” rapper as the host. 2KTV features Travis Scott for Season 5, Episode 13 as seen below. Ronnie 2K joins him on the nearly-10 minute long episode as well.
As seen in the clip above, it’s a complete takeover by the Houston rapper from behind the scenes of his cool new “Astroworld” tour. The stage setup is basically mimicking a carnival where fans have an amusement park feel as Scott graces the stage and raps his latest hit songs. Scott discusses his tour setup and how he plays 2K19 on the road.
The episode also features helpful information about NBA 2K19 that gamers have come to expect such as upcoming events and competitions. With Travis Scott hosting this latest episode (in a way), one has to wonder if more celebrities might be on the way for the future editions.
