As basketball gamers await the latest NBA 2K21 updates, those who may have not had a chance to experience 2K20 will get a chance to play free of charge. Starting in July, PlayStation Plus will have NBA 2K20 amongst free games available to members. It’s a way to celebrate a major milestone in the history of the PS Plus service.
NBA 2K20 game among free PS Plus titles
The PlayStation Plus service is celebrating a 10-year anniversary and thanking fans for their support. In order to extend their gratitude, they’re giving members access to three games free of charge. Those games are Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration, Erica, and the NBA 2K20 game.
The free games offer officially begins July 7 and will run until August 3, giving a bit under a month to enjoy the three games. In order to participate, gamers need a PlayStation Plus membership with the PlayStation 4. See full details on the offer and the games here at PlayStation’s article.
Nick Maguire, General Manager of Global Services said of the celebration of PS Plus’ milestone:
We wouldn’t be here without all of you, so as a thank you, we wanted to make this upcoming monthly games announcement extra special by adding a bonus game to our incredible lineup.
PlayStation Plus first launched back on June 29, 2010, and now passes the 10-year mark. It looks to continue going strong as the next-generation PlayStation 5 comes out for the 2020 holiday season.

NBA 2K fans anticipating 2K21
The NBA 2K20 game arrived for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PCs back on September 6, 2019. The Los Angeles Lakers’ Anthony Davis was on the cover of the main game. Now that it’s been in rotation for close to a year, many basketball heads are itching for the next installment. That’s on the way, as 2K continues to tease the new game.
The first athlete of the game’s cover stars is set to get revealed on Tuesday, June 30. Some gamers believe that New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson will land on the cover for the Standard Edition of the game. Zion was already featured in the PlayStation 5 announcement trailer for the game.
As far as a release date, most are expecting it to arrive around the same timeframe that 2K20 did. That should put it somewhere around mid-to-late September. Until then, fans will have to devour each morsel of new content teasing the game ahead of its release.
