Slowly but surely, more NBA 2K20 player ratings are arriving for the upcoming basketball video game. A week ago, gamers saw the first big reveal with the top 20 players. Now, more NBA ballers who aren’t in that group are having numbers revealed. Two of the most recent included Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum and new Detroit Pistons player Derrick Rose.
NBA 2K20 player ratings: Derrick Rose
Derrick Rose began to put his name back into the realm of discussion for the NBA All-Star Game last season with some inspired performances. Fans took notice and tried their best to vote him into the game, but the newer voting format wouldn’t allow that to happen. Still, he had a nice season’s worth of work for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Now he’ll call the Detroit Pistons his team as he tries to help another Eastern Conference team with their playoff push. Rose has the benefit of a strong front court that boasts Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond.
On Monday, 2K unveiled D-Rose’s 80 overall as one of the recent NBA 2K20 player ratings. There’s also a first look at the former MVP in his new Pistons jersey in the game.
Heading into the NBA 2K19 game, Rose wasn’t considered one of the top 10 point guards. The lowest rating for those players went to Goran Dragic of the Miami Heat with an 84 overall. However, Rose was rated as an 75 in the first week of last season. Based on performance, he finished as an 82. It appears he’ll remain outside of the top 10 just based on his 80, but why the drop?
As 2K requested, fans took to the comments section to discuss their feelings about Rose’s rating. There are those who agreed with it, but others were quick to point out he had a quality season and is rated lower than rookie Zion Williamson. Celtics’ Jayson Tatum on pace for All-Star appearance?
In terms of the NBA 2K20 player ratings, it appears that the Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum still ranks amongst the game’s best small forwards. For the 2018-19 NBA season, Tatum averaged 15.7 points, six rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He continues to be one of the team’s top players and with the departures of Kyrie Irving and Al Horford, his role becomes even more important.
The third-year emerging star is an 85 overall heading into NBA 2K20. In week 1 for NBA 2K19, Tatum was rated rather high, as an 87. Over the course of the season, he fell to an 84, but 2K feels he’ll be back on track.
Could this be an All-Star season for the third-year player? He’ll have 88 overall All-Star Kemba Walker as his new teammate in the coming season. As a 2K pairing, they have an average of 86.5 overall. It could be another exciting campaign for the Celtics and their fans, especially with how the NBA landscape has changed so much.
Debates raged on in the Twitter comments over Tatum’s rating as well with some indicating that this will be a good year for him now that he’s not so much of a third option. Along with Kemba, he should form one of the NBA’s talented dynamic duos.
By the way, NBA 2K is teasing more ratings for the new game, including Lonzo Ball and De’Aaron Fox, so stay tuned!
