A number of players have been off to great starts in the NBA’s 2019-20 season. That includes sophomore sensation Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves star Andrew Wiggins. Doncic and Wiggins were two of several players who got nice boosts in the newest NBA 2K20 ratings update. However, the ratings update also saw some slumping players drop a bit for their numbers.
Doncic, Wiggins amongst rising NBA 2K20 ratings stars
In an official NBA 2K20 ratings update revealed on Thursday (Nov. 21), 2K shows off all of the players who moved up or dropped. It’s no surprise that Diamond Moments star Luka Doncic has seen his stock on the rise in the real game and the video game.
The Mavs’ second-year player has been doing impressive work on the court to help Dallas look like an early contender in the challenging West. Doncic is now a 93 overall in the game after a three-point boost for a player who seems headed towards the All-Star team early on.
Also on the rise is the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Andrew Wiggins. The former No. 1 pick was believed to be a rising star in his first few years, then seemingly became an afterthought. There were ongoing trade rumors based on his slump in Minnesota. That’s not the case with his latest campaign, though.
After 12 games, his 25.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game are all above his career averages. In particular, that scoring average jumped, most likely due to Jimmy Butler’s departure from the team last season.
Based on his improved stats, Wiggins is up by four points to an 84 overall now in the 2K game. In addition, his Minnesota Timberwolves teammate Karl-Anthony Towns is also on the move. Towns went up one point to become a 91 OVR in the latest NBA 2K20 ratings.
Other players who got a nice boost included Moritz Wagner (up 4 to 78 OVR), Bogdan Bogdanovic (up 3 to 79 OVR), Bradley Beal (up 2 to 89 OVR), and D’Angelo Russell (up 2 to 87 OVR).
Westbrook, Porzingis amongst slumping stars
Not everyone is moving up in this new NBA 2K20 ratings update. A number of notable players saw their ratings slide in the 2K game. That includes the newest member of the Houston Rockets, Russell Westbrook.
After three seasons of averaging a triple-double in Oklahoma City, Westbrook’s 2019-20 numbers are down after joining Houston. His 21.8 points, 7.9 assists, and 6.8 rebounds a game are lower across the board, but that’s most likely due to playing alongside All-Star James Harden. In OKC, Westbrook usually had to do much more to help his team win.
In an interesting comparison, 2K shows how Russ is down two points, but the man who was traded to OKC, Chris Paul, went up. Will CP3 manage to overtake his Thunder predecessor in this year’s NBA 2K20 ratings?

Amongst other star players who dropped in the new ratings were Kristaps Porzingis (down 2 to 85 OVR), Kyle Kuzma (down 3 to 81 OVR), Lauri Markkanen (down 2 to 80 OVR), C.J. McCollum (down 1 to 85 OVR), and Draymond Green (down 1 to 85 OVR).
