When it comes to the new NBA 2K20 rookies, most gamers are excited for one player in particular: Zion Williamson. The Duke Blue Devils standout makes his debut in the virtual basketball game when it hits consoles in September. He’ll play for the New Orleans Pelicans, or whichever team gamers might assign him too. Based on recent video footage, he’s excited to be part of the process, but maybe basketball isn’t the only game he’ll get involved in.
Zion Williamson amazed by motion capture
In order for Zion Williamson to appear among NBA 2K20 rookies, 2K has to use motion capture work to get his likeness, frame, and moves in the game. It takes quite a bit of work, and a good number of cameras. To be exact, 138 cameras, according to a recent video clip that NBA 2K uploaded to their social media profiles. Zion seems in awe of the setup used at 2K and Pixelgun Studio.
Just like all cameras are on Zion in the video, all eyes will be on Zion in the coming season. His 81 overall rating has him heading into the game as the highest rated of all the NBA 2K20 rookies. He also rated above former NBA MVP Derrick Rose by a point, and ahead of where LeBron James was rated as a rookie.
Add Zion Williamson’s NBA 2K20 rookies rating to Lonzo Ball’s rating in the game, and they are an average 80 overall. Not bad for the New Orleans duo. Basically, expectations are high for the newest phenomenon to join the league!
Zion supports his fellow New Orleans team
During the 2019 ESPYS show, both Zion Williamson and Drew Brees won awards. They also hung out a bit together as Drew’s kids wanted to meet the new NBA star. During a recent day off, Zion decided to pay a visit to the New Orleans Saints’ practice to see his new friend and fellow star in the city.
The visit included more than conversation between the two pals, though. Zion decided to catch a few short passes from the man who has the most passing yards in the history of the NFL. Williamson looked more than capable of working with Brees, but one has to think his frame would make him better as a running back in the Saints’ offense.
The Saints and the Pelicans are where it’s at when it comes to professional sports in the state of Louisiana. Zion and Brees will be the top stars in the city, with plenty of fans excited to see what they’ll bring in the coming seasons. As far as Zion Williamson joining the NFL, that seems highly unlikely, but thanks to the magic of Madden 20, gamers could always insert him into that New Orleans Saints roster!
