With a busy summer of trades and free agent moves, NBA fans are looking forward to see how All-Star players perform on their new teams. That will include NBA 2K20 cover athlete Anthony Davis on the Los Angeles Lakers, and Kawhi Leonard on the Clippers. There’s also several other big name players who joined new teams. Recently, new NBA 2K20 screenshots showed a few of these players in their new team jerseys. Fans of the teams are getting giddy, and fans of NBA 2K are ready to use the new players and rosters.
NBA 2K20 Screenshots reveal stars Jimmy Butler, Kemba Walker
The new NBA 2K20 game arrives for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch in September. However, star players are already arriving via new “first look” images. On Saturday (July 13), 2K tweeted out a tease asking fans to retweet or share a post and they’d show off some of the new first looks. That included new NBA 2K20 screenshots of Kemba Walker with the Boston Celtics and Jimmy Butler with the Miami Heat.
Miami marks the fourth team in Butler’s All-Star career. He started out with the Chicago Bulls, was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves, and then played a season with the Philadelphia 76ers. Now he’s taking his talents to South Beach just after 2K20 Legends cover star Dwyane Wade retired.
Here’s the first look at the Boston Celtics’ new point guard Kemba Walker. After spending the entirety of his career with Charlotte, he will now run the show in historic Boston. Walker will take on the role of trying to get this team back to success now that Kyrie Irving and Al Horford have departed. He’ll still have a talented supporting cast including rising star Jayson Tatum and former All-Star Gordon Hayward.
Davis & LeBron Lakers tease, player ratings soon
In addition to those two screenshots, Los Angeles Lakers fans got a first look at LeBron James and Anthony Davis side-by-side in their uniforms (via @NBA2K Twitter). The 2K20 cover star was also introduced at an official Lakers press conference on Saturday. Davis spoke about which number he’ll wear on his jersey for the coming season.
The NBA 2K20 screenshots give gamers a teaser and a preview of what’s to come in the new basketball simulation game. On Monday, July 15, 2K unveils the 2K20 player ratings with the help of Anthony Davis. In another tweet, 2K has fans tagging the NBA players they believe deserve 90 or better ratings.
There should be a bunch of those players based on how things looked for 2K19. However, there’s always room for surprises based on recent transactions, or if the ratings crew decided someone might be lower.
