Last week, the NBA 2K20 game got an update in a number of ways that tweaked gameplay, but it also marked their first-ever in-game soundtrack update. The update brought new music into the game from popular artists such as Drake and 2Chainz, but there are now some new tracks from possible stars of the future. In a brand new NBA 2K20 soundtrack video, they’ve provided gamers more of a look at what went into choosing some of these new artists.
NBA 2K20 Soundtrack video: Next is Us shows winning artists
Earlier this year, 2K revealed that the NBA 2K20 Soundtrack would be different than previous years. Instead of just rolling with one playlist or the same popular artists all season, 2K would be changing things up. Undiscovered artists from the community received the opportunity to send in their original music for consideration.
Thanks to Steve Stoute through his United Masters distribution company and Nets star Kevin Durant, 10 winners were chosen to have their music featured as part of the NBA 2K20 soundtrack. They’re now streaming on a Spotify playlist and will be featured in-game.
In a new 2K20 video, they show off these new artists as they learn they’ll contribute to the game’s playlist. Some of the video includes brief clips of the artists’ songs as well as some of the calls made by Steve Stoute to the winners.
Winners react online, where to listen to the new music
The 10 winners were Lee Bezel, RIF, Quantrelle, Anonymuz, Aking Kalld Pedro, 570JV, Fourtee, Swoosh God, Q, and Bravo. It’s also mentioned in the video that these 10 winners came out of over 10,000 artists who sent in their music for consideration, so that gives them quite the opportunity to get their music heard in a creative new way.
Many of the winners tweeted about their excitement of being included on the updated NBA 2K20 Soundtrack. Lee Bezel tweeted out to let his friends and fans know that his track was selected.
“YESSIR!!! BIG DUFFY IS IN NBA 2K20!!🤯🤯 WE GOIN CRAZY!! SHOUT OUT @NBA2K & @unitedmasters CT LETS GOOOOOOO🖤,” Bezel tweeted.
AkinG Kalld Pedro also tweeted his excitement over the news:
