On Thursday (Mar. 19), NBA 2K20 MyTeam gave fans something new for the mode while everyone awaits word on the return of the NBA. The new content is called NBA 2K20 Spotlight Sim Challenges. It involves a series of different challenges where gamers can earn rewards. Here are more details on what’s available for this new MyTeam promotion.
What are the new NBA 2K20 Spotlight Sim Challenges?
NBA 2K MyTeam Twitter revealed the news about new NBA 2K20 Spotlight Sim challenges in a tweet on Thursday (Mar. 19). There are Spotlight Sim Challenges associated with each of the NBA teams. Right now, there are five challenges per NBA team, with each bringing a reward. At the completion of all five challenges, gamers earn a special Spotlight player card with a high rating of 95 overall.
As an example, the Milwaukee Bucks Spotlight Sim Challenges has Eric Bledsoe 95 OVR as the end reward. The other rewards include different amounts of MT and Tokens. To claim the rewards, you’ll need to defeat a certain team using your NBA 2K20 MyTeam. As you progress, the difficulty level also increases.
Here’s how the Bucks’ five challenges look with difficulty levels and rewards:
- Boston Celtics – Rookie (250 MT)
- Golden State Warriors – Pro (500 MT)
- Dallas Mavericks – All-Star (800 MT)
- Toronto Raptors – Superstar (1,000 MT)
- Brooklyn Nets – Hall of Fame (6 Tokens)
Final Reward: Eric Bledsoe Diamond player card 95 OVR
One catch is that on at least the first of any team’s five challenges, they require you have three players from the team on your MyTeam. Back to our example, you’d need three Milwaukee Bucks players in your lineup to work on the first part of the Bucks Sim Challenge.
To access the new challenges, head into NBA 2K20’s MyTeam mode and scroll on the top menu to “Single Player.” Next, choose Challenges and then “Spotlight Challenges.” Scroll to the right with your controller to get past the player challenges until you see the first team challenge, the Philadelphia 76ers.
Who are the Diamond player rewards?
Each team has a special reward card. As mentioned in the section above, it’s a 95 overall Diamond card. Here’s a look at each team’s final player reward for NBA 2K20 Spotlight Sim Challenges.

Bigger rewards: Siakam, Ingram, and Harden
While the Diamond player cards above are nice, the Pink Diamond and Galaxy Opal player cards are even nicer. Gamers can get a Pascal Siakam PD by completing all of the Eastern Conference team challenges and collecting the player rewards. Gamers can get the Brandon Ingram PD for completing all Western Conference team challenges.
A James Harden Galaxy Opal is the top prize, but to land that requires acquiring both Siakam and Ingram. It’s quite a bit of grinding, but with many people currently staying home, it could be spare time well spent.
2K fans, will you be completing any of the Spotlight Sim Challenges? If so, which reward are you aiming for?
