NBA 2K20 Throwback Moments: Galaxy Opal Cards Arrive for Rudy Gobert, Walt Frazier
With the NBA season still up in the air as far as a restart, 2K is celebrating seasons of the past with their NBA 2K20 Throwback Moments. As of Monday, a trio of new stars arrived in Galaxy Opal form for use in the popular MyTeam mode of the game. They include Hall of Famer Walt Frazier and two-time Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert.
Frazier, Gobert, and Maggette among new NBA 2K20 Throwback Moments cards
Three Galaxy Opal cards highlight the NBA 2K20 Throwback Moments cards revealed on June 15. Leading the way is the Hall of Famer Walt Frazier, now a commentator with his former team, the New York Knicks. Walt previously appeared in Prime Series II with a 97 overall item.
The new Frazier card outdoes that as it brings a 99 OVR including 97 Playmaking, 96 Athleticism, 93 Defending, 93 Outside Scoring, and 86 Inside Scoring. Frazier gets just a 72 on his rebounding, which is to be expected for most guards. As far as badges, he’s got 15 of the Gold and 47 for Hall of Fame including Giant Slayer, Tireless Shooter, Handles for Days, Pogo Stick, and Clamps.
Joining him in the Galaxy Opal crew for NBA 2K20 Throwback Moments is Rudy Gobert, who can play either power forward or center on MyTeam rosters. Gobert previously appeared with cards rated in the low 90s for Moments of the Week 9 and Spotlight Rewards Series II.
The new Gobert item includes Gobert has 98 Rebounding and 96 Defending, as well as 93 Inside Scoring and 91 Athleticism. The card features 16 Gold and 43 HOF Badges. Packs, boxes, and auction listing prices
The new NBA 2K20 Throwback Moments cards are found in MyTeam Market in the League Moments Series 2 packs. These start at 2,812 VC or 3,750 for a Base Pack. However, the Standard (3,750 VC/4,500 MT) and Deluxe (5,625 VC/6,000 MT) packs bring increased chances of pulling the Moments players.
There’s also the 10-pack Standard Box for 33,750 VC, a 10-pack Deluxe Box for 50,625 VC, and a 20-pack Deluxe box for 101,250 VC.
Auction listings are another way to go for those Galaxy Opal cards. So far it doesn’t seem prices are anywhere near the recent GOAT Magic Johnson card. Gobert is going for a reasonable 100,000 MT right now on the PS4 listings. Frazier is going for the same amount.
Maggette’s card has listings at the same 100,000 MT price point. So it’ll be interesting to see if any of these individual items move ahead of the other GO cards or stay around the same level.
