NBA 2K21 MyTeam Season 2: Next is Now Brings Free Agent Zion, Triple Threat Challenges
On Friday, NBA 2K21 MyTeam Season 2: Next is Now launched in the popular basketball video game mode. It’s the follow-up to the first season, One Will Rise, and features all-new challenges and content, including a Pink Diamond reward gamers can unlock. A free agent Zion Williamson is appropriately the freebie gamers will get for the new season, as 2K looks ahead to the next-gen consoles and game.
NBA 2K21 MyTeam Season 2: Next is Now brings new challenges and content
An official NBA 2K21 MyTeam Season 2 trailer and Courtside Report on Friday gave fans a look at what’s available and ahead in MT mode. In MyTeam, gamers build a squad of top talents, by adding various player cards and items to their roster. These cards are available through packs in the Store, unlocking them through challenges, or exchanging sets of cards.
Gamers receive a free agent Onyx Zion Williamson player card as part of Season 2. It’s the first reward unlocked for Level 1 on the new season. Other rewards include Tokens, Packs, collectibles, XP, and other player cards.
The top reward for getting to Level 40 in NBA 2K21 MyTeam Season 2 is a Pink Diamond Blake Griffin card. It’s a 96 overall item that features Griffin usable as a power forward or center. It’s the next big reward following Season 1’s PD Steph Curry.
In their Courtside Report, 2K spotlights the new Triple Threat Challenges. It’s a new form of single-player 3v3 games in MyTeam. As 2K notes, they start off Season 2 with 10 Triple Threat Challenge games in Spotlight Challenges. These will involve “almost” all of the player rewards for Season 2.
They also mention the debut of Rafaer Alston aka “Skip to My Lou” in MyTeam. Gamers will unlock Alston’s new card by completing all of the Triple Threat Challenges they release in Spotlight through NBA 2K21 MyTeam Season 2.
New Tip-Off packs and cards available
In conjunction with NBA 2K21 MyTeam Season 2, there are also a new series of packs in the Pack Market. They are the Tip-Off East and West packs. Tip-Off East packs bring a number of new player cards including 95 OR Pete Maravich Pink Diamond, Diamond Larry Johnson and Derrick Coleman, and Amethyst Shaq.
The West packs feature 95 OVR James Worthy Pink Diamond as the top card available. Additional player cards include Diamond Greg Oden and Darius Miles as well as Amethyst Karl-Anthony Towns and Yao Ming.
The 2K MyTeam Twitter posted a special Locker code for MT gamers to enter and potentially receive one of these new Tip-Off packs.
