Just from watching that video, you probably can appreciate how far forward PS5 is bringing gaming. But in the image below, you can also view a side-by-side comparison.
There is no contest between these images. On the left, we see much flatter lighting, plus the crowd is dim and distant. On the right, the lighting is much more realistic and 3-dimensional. The texturing and sweat is also much more obvious, and even the neck muscles are more pronounced. Basically, character models just got a huge upgrade. Are they photorealistic? Not quite—we can still tell that this is graphics and not a photograph. But they are getting closer and closer to being like the real thing, and if you only took a quick glance, you could mistake NBA 2K21 on PS5 for a photo.
