The highly anticipated NBA 2K22 gameplay reveal trailer has dropped! With the popular basketball sim title just under two weeks away, gamers can now see what some of the new moves, celebrations, and other animations will be in the game. Additionally, the trailer provides a first look at several players in their new team uniforms after moves made during the offseason.
NBA 2K22 Gameplay Trailer showcases player moves, celebrations
Set to the sounds of Nas’ Made You Look, the new NBA 2K22 gameplay trailer shows off the animations for 2K’s upcoming game. The game footage features a look at the top stars in the NBA today as they display a variety of moves and emotions, in cinematic scenes.
From the start, the Phoenix Suns’ arena is shown along with shots of their All-Stars, Devin Booker and Chris Paul. Stephen Curry makes an appearance more than a few times in the video. So do Zion Williamson, NBA ROY LaMelo Ball, and 2K22 cover star Luka Doncic.
Along with the top stars, the 2021-22 NBA season will feature many players with new teams. The trailer showcases several of them. Around the 0:13 mark, No. 1 draft pick Cade Cunningham makes an appearance in a Pistons jersey. Other players revealed in new locations in the trailer include Lonzo Ball with the Chicago Bulls and Russell Westbrook with the LA Lakers.
Moves are aplenty in the trailer, including dizzying crossovers, vicious dunks, blocks that send the ball flying into the crowd, and slick no-look passes. WNBA players even make an appearance in the video, including GameStop Exclusive cover star Candace Parker.
A new addition looks to be players jumping up on the scorer’s table or diving over it in an effort to make a save as they rush out of bounds. Several players are shown doing this, including Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid and the Lakers’ Carmelo Anthony. There’s also crowd involvement as fans scream “Three!” while the Hornets’ Terry Rozier is shooting from downtown.
There’s also new celebrating after highlight plays. That includes the infamous bow that Trae Young took after eliminating the New York Knicks from the playoffs.
More details to arrive in Courtside Report
One thing 2K gamers are hoping to see is non-cinematic gameplay to get an idea of how the game will be. It’s possible there could be some of that revealed on Tuesday, August 31st. That’s when 2K says they’ll have a Courtside Report to give more details about the gameplay.
At that time, we’ll likely know a lot more about any upgrades and changes in the popular basketball simulation game. This will be the second year the game has been developed exclusively for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. Therefore, it should be interesting to see if the latest systems continue to advance gameplay to new levels.
