It’s time for a brand new season of NBA 2K22 MyTeam, and that means the introduction of more rewards, and a completely new game mode. Clutch Time officially debuted in MyTeam bringing with it a set of Season Agendas and exclusive rewards. Among the rewards in NBA 2K22 MyTeam Season 3 will be the top prize, a card featuring Hall of Famer Allen Iverson. Here are the essential details on which player items are available along with how Clutch Time works.
NBA 2K22 MyTeam Season 3 Launches
The launch of NBA 2K22 MyTeam Season 3 arrived on Friday, December 3, ahead of the Winter and holiday season. While Season 2 was Build Your Empire, Season 3 is called Iced Out for a chillier time of year around many areas where NBA games take place.
A Season 3 trailer (below) reveals some of the things to look for in both MyTeam and MyCareer modes.
In both modes, the goal is to rack up the Experience Points (XP). As you gain XP, you move up levels, with various rewards along the way including currency like MT and Tokens or player cards, packs, and consumable items. For MyCareer, that means boosts for your customized MyPlayer. In MyTeam that means earning things like in-game currency, packs, consumable items, and player cards.
What are the Player Card Level Rewards?
The top prize comes at Level 40 each season. In Season 2: Build Your Empire, the reward for reaching Level 40 was a Kevin Garnett Pink Diamond. With Season 3: Iced Out, it’s a sweet 97 overall Galaxy Opal Allen Iverson card. AI’s got 47 Gold and 14 Hall of Fame Badges on the item. He’s also got top-notch attributes including a blazing fast 98 Speed, 98 Speed With Ball, 97 Ball Handle, 94 Passing Accuracy, 97 Driving Layup, and 97 Steal.
That’s just one of the player cards that arrived with the new season, though. From the start, gamers get a Free Agent George Gervin with a 94 OVR rating to use for five games. One of the Rewards Season Agendas requires players to score 20 points with the Hall of Famer in a single game for 500 XP to get going.
Other rewards are available for reaching the various levels. For player cards, we’ve listed each below:
- Level 0 (0 XP) – George Gervin 94 OVR Free Agents
- Level 7 (890 XP) – Hamidou Diallo (Gold 79 OVR)
- Level 13 (2,680 XP) – Kurt Rambis (Emerald 83 OVR)
- Level 20 (9,190 XP) – Reggie Jackson (Sapphire 86 OVR)

- Level 40 (150,000 XP) – Allen Iverson (Galaxy Opal 97 OVR)
How does Clutch Time mode work?
The arrival of NBA 2K22 MyTeam Season 3 also brought the debut of the exciting new multiplayer game mode called Clutch Time. This mode features fast-paced games involving five players you choose to face an online competitor. At the start of a game, you pick a point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward, and center.
The games are played in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter. Each possession is just 14 seconds. There are standard two and three-point shots. There’s also a brand new four-point line available to rack up points even faster.
There are fouls in the game as well, but no substitutions are allowed for the five players you pick for Clutch Time. In addition, each team gets two 20-second timeouts per game.
The object is of course to outscore your opponent in the five-minute game. However, a tie at the end of the five minutes will bring Sudden Death overtime where the first team to score wins.
With each win, gamers get to spin the prize wheel for exclusive rewards.
Gamers receive a spin of the prize wheel with each of their first nine victories in the mode. As of this report, getting 10 wins will earn a reward of a Ruby Julius Randle (Lakers) card. Other rewards arrive as you move up to the higher tiers in the mode. The top prize for 50 wins in Clutch Time is the 96 OVR Pink Diamond Damian Lillard card.
As of right now, there are Season Agendas for XP for playing games in Clutch Time mode and achieving specific stats feats. Those include 125 XP for each Clutch Time game played, and making 30 three-pointers over multiple Clutch Time games for 1,000 XP.
