NBA 2K22 MyTeam Season 4 to Feature Galaxy Opal Yao Ming, Return of Heat Check Cards
The details of NBA 2K22 MyTeam Season 4 have arrived and it appears to be another one full of content to grind for. In particular, it was revealed that Candace Parker will become a Coach option as a Level Reward, and the highest reward will be Yao Ming. In addition, 2K is bringing back Heat Check cards, which can upgrade based on real-game performances. Here are details about what’s on the way.
Candace Parker, Yao Ming highlight NBA 2K22 MyTeam Season 4
Every several weeks, the NBA 2K22 video game changes seasons for the MyTeam, MyCareer, and other modes. NBA 2K22 MyTeam Season is Hunt 4 Glory and features NBA star Dwyane Wade and WNBA star Candace Parker as part of the theme. Fans will notice that 2K has appropriately added a Tiger as the Chinese New Year arrives on February 1st, and it’s the year of the tiger.
At Level 35 for Season 4, gamers will acquire a new Coach to guide their team with the recent WNBA cover star and champ, Candace Parker. Fans have previously seen Dennis Rodman, Shaquille O’Neal, and Damian Lillard get 2K22 Coach cards in MyTeam.
Also, D-Wade and Parker will have new Signature Challenges available in Season 4, giving rewards for their completion. Those include Hall of Fame Badge, Diamond Shoe Colorways, and a Diamond Shoe Boost.
At Level 40 in Season 4 comes the ultimate prize; a 97 OVR Galaxy Opal card for Hall of Famer Yao Ming. Based on comments from 2K in their report, it’s the “biggest Level 40 reward ever in MyTeam.” 2K also mentioned all gamers who completed the Unlimited’s Showdown Tier in Season 3 will have the extra 15,000 XP needed to earn Yao on Day 1.
Other rewards will include Galaxy Opal Pascal Siakam, Galaxy Opal Reggie Lewis, and Pink Diamond Mark Price in Clutch Time. A Ruby Shaq card will join the Exchange, while Pink Diamond Cazzie Russell makes his MyTeam debut in Triple Threat Online: The 100.
Heat Check cards returning to game
One of the other big reveals with NBA 2K22 MyTeam Season 4 is the return of Heat Check cards. A full collection of 450 player items will arrive in the game based on the Series 1 collection in 2K22.
These player cards can receive up to +11 boosts to attribute ratings based on real-game performances. If a player performs exceptionally well on a given night, expect to see their Heat Check card get a boost the next day.
With the addition of these cards will come new collection rewards. For collecting 2,5000 cards there’s a Galaxy Opal Andre Iguodala. Galaxy Opal Paul Pierce is earned after 2,800 cards. The first 99 overall card, a Dark Matter Gary Payton card, comes for collecting 3,000 cards.
Gamers will be able to earn a free Standard Heat Check Pack on a daily basis. To do so, there’s a daily Pick-Up Challenge which is updated daily. Defeat that and claim a pack daily to add Heat Check cards to your collection.
There’s plenty more to dive into, and we’d expect to see all sorts of new Season Agendas, Moments, Challenges, and packs with new player cards. Season 4 of NBA 2K22 MyTeam, MyCareer, and The W officially starts on Friday, January 14, 2022.
