An NBA 2K22 player ratings update has arrived and with it, three All-Star players have seen their overall ratings boosted. They included Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid, who was recently named as a starter for the NBA All-Star Game. He’s joined by former NBA Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic, and the Brooklyn Nets’ James Harden, also All-Star players in recent years. All three players are amongst those in the 90 OVR or higher club with Embiid approaching the status of top-rated player in the game.
NBA 2K22 player ratings update moves Embiid closer to top
On a regular basis, the NBA 2K22 video game updates players’ ratings based on their real-game performances. Philadelphia’s big man Joel Embiid is on the rise in the latest NBA 2K22 player ratings update as the All-Star starter is up one point to a 96 overall. Embiid was recently revealed as part of the frontcourt for the top vote-getters in the Eastern Conference.
For the current season, Embiid’s averages include 28.9 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. His 76ers are currently fifth in the East with a 29-19 record. With a 96 OVR, he’s right behind the top-rated player in the game. Fellow All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo has a 97 OVR to lead all players.
Harden, Luka also on the rise
Ahead of Embiid’s team in the East are the Brooklyn Nets, who have been aided by their All-Star player and former NBA MVP, James Harden. He’s another player moving up in this week’s player ratings, gaining a point to become a 91 overall.
That’s due to Harden carrying the team while Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant are out due to injury or COVID-19 protocols. If not for Harden, the Nets might be in serious trouble without their other two stars.
Last but not least, comes Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks. In this week’s ratings update, Luka has moved back up to 94 OVR. He’s averaging 25.2 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 8.7 assists per game, showing that he can do it all for the Mavs. Fans should expect another All-Star appearance too.
Other players seeing increases this week include the Suns’ Chris Paul up two points to 90 OVR, Nuggets’ Jeff Green up two to 76 OVR, and Pelicans’ Jose Alvarado up five to 72 OVR.
Slumping players include Klay Thompson, Kemba Walker
Several former NBA All-Stars have been having a rough time of it on the hardwood lately. There was a lot of excitement for the return of Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson. However, his performances have been lackluster lately. As a result, one-half of the Splash Brothers drops by a point to 86 OVR.
The New York Knicks are the latest team for former All-Star Kemba Walker. After a stop in Boston, he was quickly traded to the OKC Thunder and then ended up with the Knicks. This season he’s averaging just 13 points, 3.4 assists, and 3.2 boards a game. That’s a far cry from his career averages of 19.6 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds. As a result, he drops one point to an 80 OVR.
Other players dropping in the latest NBA 2K22 player ratings update are the Wizards’ Rui Hachimura down a point to 77 OVR, Utah’s Bojan Bogdanovic down a point to 81 OVR, and Hornets’ Lamelo Ball down one to an 85 OVR.
