With a new basketball game about a month away, the NBA 2K22 soundtrack artists have been revealed to give a teaser of what music to expect. The latest tracklist will feature selections from many of today’s biggest hip-hop artists. They’ll include Grammy winners Nas and Megan Thee Stallion and songs featuring the late Juice WRLD and MF DOOM. While song titles haven’t been revealed, we have some guesses at several tracks that could appear on the tracklist.
Who are the NBA 2K22 soundtrack artists?
On Wednesday, August 4, NBA 2K released their 2K Beats artists list for the new NBA 2K22 soundtrack. It includes 28 listings, some with several artists featured. Three-time Grammy winner Megan Thee Stallion is amongst the standout artists. Known for her tracks including Hot Girl Summer, Savage, and her appearance on Cardi B’s WAP, it’s unknown which song will appear in 2K22.

The same goes for recent Grammy winner Nas, who claimed the Grammy for Best Rap Album in 2021 for King’s Disease. He’s set to release the sequel, King’s Disease 2, on Friday, August 6. That should provide a number of new selections that could appear on the soundtrack.
Other artists listed alone in the 2K reveal include Thundercat, The Game, Juice WRLD, Mick Jenkins, Jack Harlow, 24KGOLDN, Swizzy, Freddie Gibbs, and The Lamonts.
Two artists that passed away within the past several years are also featured amongst the 2K22 soundtrack artists. Juice WRLD died in December 2019, leaving behind a catalog of hits that has fans longing for more.
Underground hip-hop artist MF DOOM was on the scene for many years, extending back to his days with the group KMD. He passed away on October 31, 2020. Based on the artists revealed above, he’ll be included as a featured artist on a Bishop Nehru track.
The official tracklist has yet to arrive, but it should be within the coming weeks. So should a gameplay trailer along with other teaser content to reveal what’s ahead in the new 2K basketball game.
What songs will be on the tracklist?
Several of the artist listings seem to tip off the songs that will be featured on the album, as they are tracks with features. For example, Travis Scott featuring Young Thug and M.I.A.’s Franchise looks to be on the NBA 2K22 soundtrack. So will the song Need It by Migos featuring Youngboy Never Broke Again.
Earlier this year, Saweetie released her collab anthem with Doja Cat called Best Friend which looks like it’s also part of 2K’s new tracklist.
In 2020, Gunna and Young Thug released the extremely catchy Dollaz on my Head which seems like another potential soundtrack piece.
NBA 2K22 Soundtrack will also include up and coming artists
In addition to the popular artists mentioned above, NBA 2K will continue to bring in newer artists with the United Masters collaborative effort. This involves a talent search which was part of the past few 2K titles. It adds new music from up-and-coming artists to the game’s playlist. Oftentimes, more tracks are added as the NBA 2K season continues.
Here’s a look at some of those artists coming to the NBA 2K22 soundtrack.

When does the new 2K game come out?
A few weeks ago, we saw the official reveal for three different covers for NBA 2K22. The Standard Edition features Dallas Mavs All-Star Luka Doncic.
A GameStop exclusive WNBA edition features Candace Parker on the front, the first WNBA star to grace the cover. There’s also the NBA 2K22 75th Anniversary edition which has Kevin Durant, Dirk Nowitzki, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
One other available edition for pre-order is the NBA 2K22 Cross-Gen Digital Bundle. This particular edition gives gamers the ability to play the game on PS4 and PS5 or the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S for crossover play. This is good in case a gamer has a current and last-gen console from the same family (PlayStation or Xbox) or plans to upgrade.
The official release date for the game is September 10, 2021. NBA 2K22 is available on the Sony PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Steam for PC.
Each of the NBA 2K22 game editions includes specific bonus content. Check out NBA 2K’s pre-order details to get more information about each of the versions.
