As of April 25, EA’s NBA Live 19 content update arrived to make sure deserving players were rewarded with better player ratings. That included the man that many people believe will win the 2019 NBA MVP Award who is now tied as the best player in NBA Live. Giannis Antetokounmpo has continued his rise to superstardom. In addition, there’s the return of Andrew Bogut for the Golden State Warriors, with a surge in his player ratings.
Greek Freak, Bogut’s NBA Live 19 player ratings surge
It’s no secret by now that NBA superstar LeBron James fell from his perch at the top in his first season with the Los Angeles Lakers. That has allowed several star players to put their names at the forefront for the NBA MVP race. One of them is reigning MVP James Harden of the Houston Rockets. The other is the Milwaukee Bucks’ “Greek Freak.” Giannis received a plus-two boost to his player ratings in NBA Live 19. That makes him a 98 overall, tied with Harden as the game’s top player.
A number of other star players joined Giannis including the Portland Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard (94) and NBA Live cover star Joel Embiid (95).
No player received a bigger boost in the latest update than Andrew Bogut, though. He’s now back on the Golden State Warriors and looking to aid them in their quest to repeat as champions. With Bogut filling in for the injured Boogie Cousins, he’s impressed EA Sports NBA Live crew. They boosted him by four points to become a 76 overall.
Other players getting a nudge for their ratings included DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Jovic, CJ McCollum, Tobias Harris, and Pascal Siakam. Sliding just a bit were Ish Smith (78), Danilo Gallinari (81), and Thon Maker (71). They all fell by one point each.
Other NBA Live 19 content update notes
On the transactions side of the game, Bogut officially signed with the Warriors early last month after completing his time in the National Basketball League. As a member of the Sydney Kings, he won the league’s MVP and top defensive player awards before rejoining Golden State. So he’s now officially in the game via an NBA Live transaction. Bogut is also on the team’s starting lineup for their roster.
There were a few bug fixes made within NBA Live 19. Both look like they addressed issues with how shoes appear in the game. One fix helped make shoe thumbnails appear correctly. The other allowed for proper filtering and sorting of shoe colors.
Here’s a look at the other minor update notes from the NBA Live 19 screen.
The update checks in at 1.878 GB on the PlayStation 4, so make sure you’ve got adequate space on your console and time to install. In fact, it is a necessity if you want to use NBA Live’s online features. That includes the ability to play against Patrick Mahomes, or participate in upcoming NBA Street X Event.
