NBA Live 19 Title Update Brings Major Changes to Gameplay, WNBA Players, & More

On the heels of the yesterday’s NBA Live 19 updates for players’ ratings and likenesses, comes more information about what was adjusted. The early June NBA Live 19 title update brings quite a bit into the game as far as fixing gameplay issues and addressing team personnel. Here are more details about what this new game update brings to the court.

NBA Live 19 Title Update includes WNBA

The new title update is version 6.6 for NBA Live. Yesterday, we reported about the NBA Live 19 player updates. Several players in the playoffs right now received boosts on their ratings including the Toronto Raptors’ Kawhi Leonard and Pascal Siakam, while some of the Bucks’ players dropped.

That also included adjusting the likenesses for WNBA stars such as Liz Cambage and Katie Lou Samuelson. At the time we hadn’t seen the full listing of all the player likeness updates. In addition to a lot of WNBA likeness changes, there’s also NBA stars on the EA notes. That includes Jimmy Butler, Marcus Smart, Ben Simmons, and Trey Lyles.

Title update brings new gameplay fixes

The NBA Live community continues to provide feedback to the EA developers and they definitely incorporated a lot of it into the new update. Below is exactly what they adjusted with title update 6.6 in Live.

  • Upped defensive impact to shots: Good defensive positioning will be rewarded by affecting jump shots more.
  • Introducing a ball hog penalty: If a user “hogs” the ball for an excessive period, shots will be penalized. A major shot penalty will kick in if the user continues to ball hog. This is only for user player jump shots in Live Run.
  • Bigger players will play contact shots against smaller players less often: This will result in more clean looks and makes for bigger players (when going up against smaller players)
  • More impact for lower-rated players on contact layups: This results in lower-rated players missing more layups with contact
  • Increased chances to make cleaner layups and shots around the rim: Fewer clean layups missed from light contests
  • Improved ball handling vs. collisions: Higher-rated ball handlers will only pick up the ball from too many collisions or being super low on short-term stamina.

Those gameplay fixes are now in the game much to the approval of NBA Live players. In addition, they made WNBA uniform, gear, and lineup updates. The full EA notes here give the entirety of this NBA Live 19 title update. For those who are enjoying the game still, and especially those gamers running with WNBA mode, it’s a great update to have.
