NBA Live 19 Update: Raptors Player Ratings Rise, WNBA Players Get Likeness Updates

As the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors are two games deep into the NBA Finals, the WNBA season is also underway. On Monday (June 3), a brand new NBA Live 19 update arrived for the basketball game to reflect several adjustments based on these two concepts. In particular, several of the Raptors’ players got ratings boosts as they continue their postseason success. EA’s ratings adjustments for the Milwaukee Bucks weren’t as kind overall, though. WNBA players also got some love in the new update.

NBA Live 19 update for Raptors, Bucks players

By now, it’s known that the Toronto Raptors are the Eastern Conference champions after knocking the Milwaukee Bucks out of the postseason. Several players have been instrumental during their playoffs run including All-Star Kawhi Leonard and rising star Pascal Siakam. Both of these guys went up a point in the game.

In addition to those two players, the Raptors’ Fred VanVleet received a one-point boost on his current in-game ratings. This could change depending on how the NBA Finals play out.

Interestingly, Milwaukee Bucks star player Giannis Antetokounmpo slid in terms of his overall ratings in the update. NBA Live’s update pushed the “Greek Freak” down to a 96 overall. That means Kawhi has taken over ahead of him as a 97 overall in the game.

Giannis is considered a frontrunner to win the NBA Finals MVP Award, as he’s one of the three finalists along with James Harden (Rockets) and Paul George (Thunder). However, it’s Kawhi who propelled Toronto into their first-ever NBA Finals this postseason.

Giannis’ teammate Eric Bledsoe also dropped one point to become an 84 overall. Meanwhile, EA felt the need to reward big man Brook Lopez in this update. He moved up by a point to 82 overall.

WNBA Players get new likeness updates

The NBA Live 19 title is the only basketball video game to feature women’s players from the WNBA. Just like EA updates player likenesses for the NBA stars, they’ve done the same for several WNBA players in their newest update. Among them is the look for Liz Cambage of the Las Vegas Aces. The gaming community is already praising how good the likeness looks based on a side-to-side comparison.

Cambage was one of several players to get an NBA Live 19 player likeness update. The Las Vegas Aces’ Jackie Young, New York Liberty’s Asia Durr, Indiana Fever’s Teaira McCowan, Chicago Sky’s Katie Lou Samuelson, and Minnesota Lynx’s Napheesa Collier also received updates. Here are several of the new player looks as NBA Live tweeted them.

The latest NBA Live 19 update should take effect as soon as one launches the game on PS4 or Xbox. Meanwhile, we’re awaiting the first news of EA Sports’ upcoming NBA Live 20 title. That seems it should happen soon based on developments with Madden and FIFA.
