New Mode Brings 100-Player Team Deathmatch to Call of Duty: Warzone

With the launch of Season 5 Reloaded next week, Call of Duty: Warzone will be getting a major new game mode, offering players the chance to fight in huge, 100-player team deathmatches. Clash will feature custom map areas, almost unlimited loadout options, and more.

The New Call of Duty: Warzone Clash Mode

In the past, Call of Duty: Warzone has offered players temporary access to 50v50 game modes, such as in the Rumble mode. However, the upcoming Clash game mode is a little different, with more purpose-built mechanics. A key difference, for example, is the use of custom maps. Rather than taking place across the entirety of Verdansk, Clash will feature select areas from Verdansk. Treyarch has confirmed that three of these will be Boneyard, Downtown, and Factory.

In Clash, two teams of 50 players fight against one another with infinite respawns. Rather than eliminating their opponents, each team is competing to be the first to reach 500 points. Points can be earned by eliminating enemy players and also by completing in-game Contracts. These Contracts also offer secondary rewards in the form of power-ups which can shift the tides of the battle. The smaller maps used for Clash ensure that the action should be much more fast-paced, without the slower parts spent traversing Verdansk in battle royale.

Clash is one of two new game modes coming to Call of Duty: Warzone in Season 5 Reloaded. The second mode is Iron Trials ’84, which offers players a more challenging experience to standard battle royale. For the most part, the game mechanics of Iron Trials ’84 are the same as in battle royale. However, the health of all players will be higher than normal, with altered health regen. When it comes to gear, Complementary Loadout Drops will not be available, and Buy Station prices will be higher.

In Iron Trials, the Gulag is a much more balanced experience, with many potential advantages removed. Players will not be able to use shotguns, akimbo, or most tactical equipment items, for example. Further changes will also be evident in Iron Trials, but the details of these are currently under wraps. Treyarch will reportedly be revealing more about the mode closer to the release date of the 9th of September.
