Following the recent conclusion of The Old Ways event in Apex Legends, Respawn has both announced and also launched yet another event; the Apex Legends Battle Armor event. Smaller than a standard Apex Legends event, the Battle Armor event will last for two weeks, with different changes applying to in-game armor throughout that period.
What is the Apex Legends Battle Armor Event?
The new Apex Legends Battle Armor event launched today, on the 28th of April. It will be live for the next two weeks, coming to an end on the 12th of May. During this time, players will have access to a limited-time game mode called Battle Armor. The only other change during this event is that finishing in the Top 5 of a match will net you double Level XP.
Set solely on the World’s Edge map, Battle Armor is a relatively simple mode which will be changing every few days. Essentially, when you play Battle Armor, only one type of armor item will be available. When you enter a Battle Armor match you’ll drop in with a P2020. However, all but one type of armor will have been removed from the loot pool. Note that shield cells and batteries will still be available as normal. These are the only differences between Battle Armor and a standard match. The specific type of armor available will follow a schedule, as follows:
- 10:00 AM PDT April 28th – 10:00 AM May 2nd: Level 1 Armor (White)
- 10:01 AM PDT May 2nd – 10:00 AM May 6th: Level 2 Armor (Blue)
- 10:01 AM PDT May 6th – 10:00 AM May 9th: Level 3 Armor (Purple)
- 10:01 AM PDT May 9th – 10:00 AM May 12th: Evo Armor
The obvious standout on the list is the final entry; Evo Armor. This all-new armor type is inspired by the Evo Shields which were available during the System Override event, earlier this year. When you first acquire Evo Armor, it will be the same quality as White armor. However, the more you damage enemies, the stronger it will get, until eventually it will be stronger than Purple armor!
