Following on from their reveals from earlier this year, Weta Workshop has unveiled three new Apex Legends figures developed in partnership with Respawn. Several figures have already been revealed by the company. However, these new figures are much more detailed and more expensive, from the company’s Figures of Fandom range. The unveiling comes in the same week as Weta Workshop unveiled four new Borderlands figures from the same collection.
Weta Workshop’s New Apex Legends Figures
Figures of Fandom is one of Weta Workshop’s collectible ranges which includes a wide variety of high-detail vinyl figures. The Apex Legends figures revealed earlier this year were from the smaller and more cartoonish Mini Epics range. Figures of Fandom are usually around 8-9″ tall and made from high-quality PVC. Of course, the high detail does come with a higher retail price. The three new figures are each available to pre-order for $99.99 (£79.95). Of the various Legends, Weta has chosen Lifeline, Pathfinder, and Wraith for their first Apex Legends Figures of Fandom. The Pathfinder figure is the largest thanks to its upraised arm; standing 12.8″ tall!
Although these figures hadn’t been officially confirmed, concept art released by Weta Workshop earlier this year had seemed to suggest that they were in development. Like the Mini Epics figures, these new figures aren’t currently available for purchase, only pre-order. The Bangalore, Bloodhound, and Mirage Mini Epic figures (available for $29.99 each) will be releasing sometime during November this year. The new Lifeline, Pathfinder, and Wraith figures will release sometime in December.
It’s currently unknown whether these are the complete Apex Legends collection or whether Weta Workshop plans on releasing more. Their website does state; “Weta Workshop and Apex Legends are teaming up to bring your favourite Legends to life. We’ve got exciting things in the pipeline for collectors of cool stuff: Figures of Fandom, Mini Epics and more, coming soon”. Concept art from earlier this year did seem to indicate that there would be a Mini Epic Pathfinder figure, for instance. However, it’s unknown if that design was abandoned in favour of the current three, or whether it is still in development.
