As Apex Legends Season 7 nears its conclusion, with the end of the Holo-Day Bash 2020 event on the 4th of January, Respawn has revealed that it will be releasing a brand-new episode of Stories From the Outlands; their ongoing cinematic series detailing the origins of the game’s roster of Legends. This new episode, “Fight Night,” is due to debut tomorrow, on the 29th of December.
Apex Legends Stories From the Outlands: Fight Night
The last episode of Stories From the Outlands was “Promise,” which was released just over two months ago, revealed the new character Horizon ahead of the launch of Season 7. Indeed, previous episodes have often served to introduce new characters shortly before their launch. However, the series has also included several longer-form episodes featuring the game’s original cast. These episodes have served to give players more information about an existing character’s backstory.
It’s currently unknown which of these two categories “Fight Night” will fall into. Apex Legends Season 7 isn’t quite over yet, which could indicate the latter. Stories From the Outlands revealing new characters tend to only be released days prior to a new season, after all. It’s not impossible that Fight Night will feature somebody new, but there are several existing characters who have never appeared in the series; Bangalore, Caustic, Gibraltar, Lifeline, etc.
The last episode of Stories From the Outlands to feature an existing character was “The Old Ways“; a lengthy installment which delved into the backstory of Bloodhound. That episode preceded the launch of a special two-week ‘Lore Event’; the only such event to ever occur in the game thus far. The event featured a prize track, exclusive skins, and a new Bloodhound-themed Town Takeover. Its ending also marked the permanent addition of Duos to the game. It’s possible that Respawn is planning a second Lore Event to fall between Seasons 7 & 8. Whatever the case, fans will have to tune in to watch Fight Night at 08:00 AM PT tomorrow, on the 29th of December, to find out.
