Beyond Skyrim is one of the largest and most ambitious set of mods currently in development for The Elder Scrolls 5. The project recently released their first ever Development Diary video, showcasing the progress of the various mod teams. Additionally, the team announced a new addition to their mod roster; “The New North,” just a few days ago. Now, the team of developers behind the Beyond Skyrim: Iliac Bay mod have released the footage from a nearly five-hour livestream.
New Q&A and Gameplay Footage From Beyond Skyrim: Iliac Bay
The Beyond Skyrim: Iliac Bay development team recently published the almost five-hour livestream footage on YouTube. In the stream, the modders hold a fan Q&A and discussion of the mod, all while showcasing the new content as it currently stands. Of course, everything which the developers show is still a work-in-progress. Many of the existing assets will eventually be replaced with new ones at some stage of development.
Each of the Beyond Skyrim mods takes a different geographic region of Tamriel and seeks to develop it into a new region. They all come complete with settlements, NPCs, quests, factions, and a huge amount of new assets. The ultimate goal is to eventually have all of these mods compatible with one another to form a massive world built around Skyrim. The Beyond Skyrim: Iliac Bay mod is set in the region of The Iliac Bay; a region which borders both High Rock and Hammerfell. The area was actually the setting for The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall.
The Iliac Bay mod appears to focus heavily on both regions. The world map extends well beyond the Iliac Bay area to cover as far as the northern coast of High Rock and its border with Skyrim. It also includes perhaps the entirety of Hammerfell. The lengthy live-stream gives fans a detailed look across the whole scope of the mod; from the mountains of High Rock to the desert dunes of Hammerfell.
