Blood of the Dead, the third chapter of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies was, up until now, the only one to not get its individual “all-in” trailer. All we had was a teaser that let us know that it most likely is a reimagining of the Black Ops 3 Mob of the Dead.
As the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies for Blood of the Dead reveals, the chapter will take place in Alkatraz. You’ll be playing as Edward Richtofen, “Tank” Dempsey, Takeo Masaki and Nikolai Belinski as they are looking for a secret laboratory beneath the island prison.
Once they make it to the secret lab, they find a Richtofen doppelganger who hands player controlled Richtofen a book called the Kronorium before disappearing through a portal, and undead enemies quickly begin surrounding them.We don’t know if this chapter will have something to do with the artifact showcased in the previous chapters, however this looks like a cool easter egg for old school lovers out there.
Activision has shared some insight on the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies trailer at the themed Comic-Con panel:
“Encountering a familiar enemy Hell-bent on imprisoning them for all eternity, the Primis crew quickly realize that the future predicted by the Kronorium – the future they sought to secure – is now in jeopardy”
One thing to note about this new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies trailer is its graphics fidelity. Not only the Zombies mode looks better than ever but the zombies themselves are at their own best versions. While on the previous 2 trailers zombies looked generic and spooky, on this one they have a character and a unique feel to them.
It will be interesting to see how all three Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies chapters get connected with one another. More chapters will roll out in the future through the Season Pass and free content updates, so make sure to check back in for more information on the awaited FPS title.
