New information regarding Dragon Quest Builders 2 was revealed by Square Enix at TGS 2018. This new info for the game includes details about the game’s new farming mechanic, its Monzala Island setting, gameplay elements, and more. The sequel to the Minecraft-inspired Dragon Quest spin-off game will be releasing on December 20, 2018 in Japan for PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 had new gameplay footage shown at TGS 2018 that revealed these new details. For one, there will now be the ability to use the world map to teleport from location to location with ease like in other games. There is a pot in the game that allows you to produce water and make it flow from anywhere. The pot is useful for watering your crops and making things like waterfalls.
The Honeydew melon was revealed as a new fruit that you will be able to grow using Dragon Quest Builders 2’s farming mechanic. Farming is a new feature that is being introduced with this sequel. If there is dirt you can’t grow on, a Wiggly monster can help with that.
The main premise of this sequel is to make the empty Monzala Island a lively place with people. In order to do this, the main story will have you venturing out to other places in the game world and helping the people out there. Once you have completed their various tasks, you will be able to invite certain characters to come back with you to Monzala Island and become residents.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 releases on December 20, 2018 for PS4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan. No Western release date has been given for the Minecraft-inspired title but with the release of the original just earlier this year on Switch, we will most likely not see this game until, at the earliest, next year in 2019.
