Microsoft recently held their Xbox livestream for the annual Gamescom 2018 event. During the livestream, Pete Hines made an appearance to announce a new Fallout 76 bundle; Bethesda’s Vice President of Marketing announced the release date and price of the new bundle for the Xbox One X. It is set to release alongside Bethesda’s upcoming post-apocalyptic RPG in November.
The New Fallout 76 Bundle for the Xbox One X
The new Fallout 76 bundle is designed to market the Xbox One X, and comes with a substantial amount of content. All told, the bundle will include an Xbox One X console with 1TB of storage, a standard edition copy of Fallout 76, and a single wireless controller. In addition, it will come with one month free of both Xbox Live Gold and the Xbox Game Pass service; giving players access to dozens of games. The Fallout 76 bundle will release on the 14th of November, the same day as Fallout 76 itself. The bundle will retail for $499.00.
The Fallout 76 bundle is actually the second Xbox One X bundle which Microsoft has announced so far at E3. The company also announced the “Gold Rush Bundle”; a bundle formed in collaboration with EA which features an Xbox One X console and Battlefield V. The two bundles are relatively similar, although the Gold Rush bundle does include the notable addition of a backward-compatible copy of Battlefield 1943. That game only recently received backwards compatibility. It’s unknown if Microsoft is planning any additional bundles for the October/November release period, but the company is clearly looking to boost sales of the Xbox One X console.
October and November look set to be two of the busiest months this year for game releases; Battlefield V, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Fallout 76 are all scheduled to release during the period, in addition to other high-profile titles. The period is an ideal window for Microsoft and other companies to push console sales.
