New Fan Theory Places Elder Scrolls VI in the Redguard Homeland of Yokuda

Ever since the release of the Elder Scrolls VI announcement trailer, fans have been brimming with questions. Among the most common, if not the most of all, is which part of the Elder Scrolls world will be the Elder Scrolls VI setting? Of course, while Bethesda has confirmed that they know the answer, they won’t be revealing it anytime soon. As such, fans have been going through the trailer footage with proverbial fine-toothed combs. A new fan theory which has emerged on Reddit posits Yokuda as the game’s setting.

Could the Elder Scrolls VI Setting be Yokuda?

Relatively little is known about the land of Yokuda in Elder Scrolls lore, compared to the territories of Tamriel. The land is the original home of the Redguards, who left it long ago to sail for Tamriel. The land consisted of an island archipelago which lay to the west of Tamriel, and which long ago sank into the ocean; the event which forced the Redguards’ migration in a manner similar to Tolkien’s fall of Numenor. In an event called the Ra Gada Invasion, the Redguards landed on Tamriel’s shores and claimed Hammerfell for their own. Indeed, the name “Redguard” may come from the words “Ra Gada”.

New Fan Theory Suggests Yokuda as Elder Scrolls VI Setting

Yokuda was suggested as the Elder Scrolls VI setting recently on Reddit by Redditor XC_Griff. At present, the most convincing theory casts Hammerfell as the game’s setting, which would presumably put players on the frontlines of the war against the Aldmeri Dominion; an impending conflict which was strongly hinted at throughout Skyrim. Yokuda would be a much more far-flung location, lacking the story hooks that Hammerfell possesses. While fans have long hoped for an Elder Scrolls game set in one of the lands mentioned in lore which lie beyond Tamriel’s borders, Bethesda has never ventured that far afield. As a result, while Yokuda would certainly be an interesting location, it sadly seems an unlikely theory.
